Paul is apparently going Techno Funk R and B for the new album. www.nme.com/news/paul-mccartney/69654He's chasing an Usher type thing: (I changed the video version. This one is a little more lively.)

I'll just wait until it's released, buy it and see what I think.....
We've questioned his vocal prowess so much over recent times, to the point that now I don't know what to expect from a new Paul album.....
I hope the vocals are reasonable at least.....

I would love Paul doing a combination of "Mumbo" and Hip Hop! He would need to bring someone in, how about Jay-Z? 50 Cent would be cool, that would put Paul back on the streets, like Hamburg but cooler.

I've downloaded it too. I love the Bloody Beetroots contribution, really powerhouse. A pity about Paul's raspy vocals. I'm assuming they are the same recording used for Nothing Too Much Just Out Of Sight? If, so, I think he should have re-recorded them for this. I don't like the ending of the song much either. Still, an interesting addition to Paul's catalogue.

Paul is pretty amazing. To still be on top of his game at 70 something. Long may he run

Well he's been using modern producers and then the claim is it's his best work since the late 70s ? So London Town and Back to the Egg are considered as better than anything that's come since then ? Then the comparsion to Penny Lane and other Beatles songs, hmmm sounds like the standard hype that accompanies all Paul releases. My hope is that it's a modern sound and production and less Beatley as possible and better than London Town and Back to the Egg.

If a manager was going to conduct an album preview why would he only play "bits and pieces of rough mixes" of five songs?
It seems suspect to me.

Oh, wait, it's Steve's article. Paul's got until Oct to meet his release date. Maybe he's testing the reactions.

A powerful title for the new album would be Paul McCartney Reclaim.

There are also reports on the net of a repackaged/remastered Live At The BBC in September.

It's no longer there. They didn't bug me, for some reason.

What record label is Paul now on?
I worry a little that Paul has used four producers including some currently hot ones like the guy who produces Adele. I think of the Press To Play disaster when Paul went with the then red-hot producer of Phil Collins but with final results very unlike Phil who everything he touched back then went to #1.
Oh well, we need new Paul. Is this one of his longer gaps between new, original music?

And though I've been writing a lot about it, the publicity buzz is a little overwhelming for an album that doesn't have a title yet or an announced release date (though they appear to know).

Thanks Steve! Is Hear Music a major label? Is it the Starbucks associated label "Memory Almost Full" was released on? I know Paul was furious with Capitol Records for not promoting "Chaos" better but I hope Hear Music is a major label. I think of Dylan and Springsteen still with Columbia Records and it kind of saddens me that Paul is with a newer, rather unknown label. I think of Ringo going to smaller and smaller labels in the late 1970's and on. This is Macca, he needs to be on a major label!

I bet he can go back to EMI and get them to give him a bigger share of Beatles record sales.

Interesting that Ethan Johns is the son of Glyn Johns, of Get Back infamy, albeit, a talented musician in is own right.
Paul has worked with "2 sons of" on the songs that may or may not end up on the new opus
