Beatles fans can be pretty fickle at times. We are often divided. Some like Lennon and not McCartney, or vice versa and never the twain shall meet. Within the McCartney camp there are those who think he should still be delivering variations of All My Loving and don't have any interest in newer styles. Others can reject something like Chaos And Creation because it doesn't rock, or New because it doesn't feature the voice of a thirty year old. Maybe if there are posters who did not buy New, they can tell us why? Because like all new albums now, one can listen to clips of each track on a new album, then pick and choose which tracks to purchase and download without buying an entire album. I chose one track to download off "New". I didn't buy any single tracks. They didn't offer anything that wasn't on the discs I bought.

I chose one track to download off "New". Well, with this response (as well as at least one other here that I have read which dismissed the album) we get a small but I think rather accurate idea of why NEW could not make #1. That is - if the Paul fans who LIKE Paul don't buy it, then who will? I just don't understand this whole sad download thing... how is it really "owning" or "buying" anything? How does it exist -- on a hard drive, or out there in the cosmos or something? Can you physically have it and treasure it within your possession for all time? Well, I bought a total of four copies of NEW (one Vinyl, three varying CD versions). So I have covered for some of the slackers!

Prefer Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, James Taylor or Weird Al?

Purchasers of the new iTunes Music Radio are able to pick the songs they want to hear in personal playlists (like some of the free ad-supported services out there already). Among other things, customers are having issues with switching between the service and back to their personal music library. How long do you think it will be before they put out an announcement that they will no longer support the playback option. I imagine for a short time they will offer a service that will convert your purchased songs to MP3 or WMA. Windows Media Player is not available on new Microsoft Windows 10 PCs. So there will be no way to play them. If you bought music files, there will be no way to play them. Of course you knew this when you iRead and iOkayed the iTunes software.

I chose one track to download off "New". That is a perfectly valid thing to do. However, the various Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, Barbara Streisland, James Taylor etc. fans have the same option and they got #1s.

I bought three myself, so I am not far behind you. The strange thing is that despite collectors like you and me, and probably several thousands of others besides in the U.S. alone, still no #1. (I think it did go #1 in Norway).
