Besides Paul having a cameo, the article notes that the band's name is a tribute to the 1970's drinking club of Harry Nilsson, John Lennon, Alice Cooper, Ringo Starr and Keith Moon among others. I saw this reference to our "Lost Weekend" gang as the "Hollywood Vampires" just recently somewhere else, not in relation to this new band. I do not recall ever reading that group referred to as the "Hollywood Vampires?" Does anyone else? It is as good a name as any for them when they were staying out all night partying and sleeping all day but I just don't remember seeing John and the guys referred as that. Did May Pang mention the nickname "Hollywood Vampires" in her book(s)? She chronicled things pretty thoroughly in her writings. Or maybe it is a name Alice Cooper kept close to his vest until now, realizing that it is a marketing bullseye for this new all-star band. Does anyone remember the nickname "Hollywood Vampires" for John Lennon and crew prior to this band being formed? I don't dispute it, I just don't remember ever reading the nickname until recently. I may go through Badman's Solo Years Diary to see if he references it. Paul will probably view this as more Lennon revisionism thus his involvement in the band, to get his piece of the action!

There is this from Wikipedia
The Hollywood Vampires was a group of famous male rock stars in the 1970s. The hazing to get into the club was to outdrink all the members.[1]
Lair Of The Hollywood Vampires
In one interview, Alice Cooper lists members including Bernie Taupin, Harry Nilsson, Micky Dolenz, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and Keith Moon.[2]
One photograph from an Alice Cooper: Prime Cuts documentary includes: Micky Dolenz, Keith Moon, Harry Nilsson, Alice Cooper, Marc Bolan, Keith Allison of Paul Revere & the Raiders and Jack Cruz.[who?]
Alice Cooper from Alice Cooper: Prime Cuts: ...The Speakeasy and Tramps were the place to be in London. There was a little loft at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in LA (W. Hollywood), they only had that for the club: the club was myself, Keith Moon, Ringo, Micky Dolenz, Harry Nilsson, it was that crowd, every night those same people. Every once in a while John Lennon would come into town or Keith Emerson and they would be honorable members of the night. They still have a plaque there at the Rainbow, where it says 'The Lair of the Hollywood Vampires.'
And a picture of the plaque
