You know, this version of Lennon and McCartney would work and be very interesting. Sean is a really good guitarist and bassist, probably can play keys, don't know about drums. I've heard stories that Stella has a really good set of pipes. I'd like to hear that. It would be more interesting to me than anything with James.

Clips from this video seen on Anthology, but I had never seen the entire video before. Some of you have probably seen it in its entirety. Posted last week. Watch it before Apple decides to take it down off Youtube. I've always thought George H. sounded kinda dumb in this segment.

Watch it before Apple decides to take it down off Youtube. I've always thought George H. sounded kinda dumb in this segment. So have I. And if you watch George Martin, it appears he is trying to politely pacify George and act as if he understands exactly what Harrison is talking about, when it makes no sense. Actually, I have often felt that George H. spoke in incoherent circles like that, particularly in the Beatle days.

He makes perfect sense to me, considering he is sitting in the control room after having been asked not to play on the song.
"You see that's the difficult job, it's only a concept. Because the thing is, 'No, it doesn't go like that... but it GOES LIKE THAT. It goes through everything. You see, any piece of music can be half jazz, classical, anything you want to do with it." It can have George's little answering guitar licks.
"We're too big to do Twist and Shout."
George is a little pissed.

Just because we learned (later on, after the fact) that Paul didn't agree with the "echoing phrases" effect for HEY JUDE, it doesn't mean this is what he's going on about. We also don't know if George is sitting in the control room on that particular occasion because he's been "banished from the song" or something. George doesn't say those words at all here. And actually, it's hard to understand exactly what he's saying there as well. ("And too great, can you do Twist and Shout"? Huh, what?)... George seems happy to me in the clip. Later on he bops to the music, too.

Whoa, how did we go from praising Sir George Martin to slamming Our Sweet George?! I agree with Debjorgo that George, if not pissed is frustrated, and he is explaining to Sir George his side of that disagreement.
Then he is funny and pretends to be a fan at the Cavern requesting "Twist And Shout." But that is commentary too as George recognizes that he is a spectator not a participant. I am always sad by that clip. Why couldn't George played bass there?
On the other hand, I agree with sayne that Sean and Stella could be amazing as I too have read that she "has a set of pipes." Sean is a talented musical dude.
Recording as "Lennon/McCartney" would be sublime, right there they would sell a billion records but it would be justified. It is better than, "Sean & Stella."
And for the love of God, keep James McCartney a million miles from Lennon/McCartney!
