Yay! About f...ing time. I am happy with this release being tied in with the Ron Howard movie, but I must say I was hoping for a bit more. Oh well.
No mention has been made of a DVD release of the film itself. I suppose that must come eventually.

Good news here is not all the concert footage in the new Ron Howard film will be dubbed over with remixed recordings. George Martin once said the Hollywood Bowl concert was one of the most difficult recordings to clean up due to the incessant screaming of the fans. But that was back in the 1980's I believe. Will be interested to hear (and see in the film) how well it was cleaned up.

I still amazes me that within 2 and 3 years of these shows they were doing Rubber Soul, Revolver, and Pepper!

No mention has been made of a DVD release of the film itself. I suppose that must come eventually. Yeah, several people have said that they wish there was more. I would have liked to have seen at least two shows released complete, but I'm happy this is finally coming. I've had a bootleg on my iPhone forever and I listen to it often. It's an essential album.

This release actually excites me! I thought the old 1977 album sounded good enough and I always loved listening to it. The Beatles kick ass throughout!
I am very excited about the 1964 bonus tracks of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and "You Can't Do That!" I was pissed in 1977 that "Hand" was excluded. My God that was the song that broke everything wide open in the United States, how does that get left off the only official Beatles live album? That is a great corrective move!
Who else wishes "If I Fell" was included! That seems so rare live! There is a very nice version out there from the 1964 Indianapolis Indiana State Fairgrounds concert.
I also wish the 1964 "Twist And Shout" was used instead of the 1965 version which rocks hard but is very short.

The trouble is, we are now waiting again, just like with Pure McCartney. Seven weeks to go. Maybe a new countdown is in order?

I would love to but I got hate messages for The JSD Pure McCartney Countdown! Maybe there will be more love here for this release than Pure McCartney, the Macca solo career spanning compilation comprised of songs curated by Paul himself.

You only got hate messages because that album was a waste of time. This is something new and essential, so no hate messages.
Mind you, it does have the most utterly crap sleeve of any official release.

I kinda like beatle ballads with the exception of yoko being there.

I still love Pure McCartney, the Macca solo career spanning compilation box(deluxe version) personally curated by Paul but when it comes to Beatles, you know I am a Lennon = McCartney fan and fight any efforts by those who say McCartney > The Beatles!!

Admit it Mr. vectisfabber, you peeked every day at The JSD Pure McCartney Countdown to see what rare, interesting photo of Paul I posted and to be reminded how many days until we could get our hands on Pure McCartney, the Paul solo career spanning compilation comprising of songs curated by Paul himself!

The Hollywood Bowl album uses a 1965 version of "Twist And Shout" that is shortened. I thought maybe it would have been better to use the 1964 "Twist And Shout" because I presumed it would be longer. We have a mystery! The Beatles first came to the U.S. in February 1964 and here is a video of The Beatles performing a full version of "Twist And Shout" at their Washington D.C. concert: They are still doing the long version in Australia in June 1964: But when they returned to the U.S. in August 1964, "Twist And Shout" was significantly shortened and here is the 1964 Hollywood Bowl version(this is not the one from the 1977 H.B. album which uses a 1965 version): I wonder why they shortened "Twist And Shout" as documented?

I find this hard to believe and likely misquoted. A All-Starr/Paul joint tour would be fantastic-I've said it before. Ringo does his thing and would probably attract better all-stars like Joe Walsh and Jeff Lynne. Paul comes up and does a set. With his voice so shot he needs to simply tone it down a bit. Then a 10 song closer with everyone. Killer sell out at big stadiums.

Thank you MikeV! I felt your boot kicking me in the ass all throughout The JSD Pure McCartney Countdown which celebrated the then approaching release date of the Paul solo career compilation comprising songs curated by Paul himself!

It's Fox News. That says a lot right there. I don't know how they are reporting Ringo News, but they're right on the money covering accurate news which the mainstream media won't.

Joe, among real journalists (which Fox is not) they are a joke. The "news" they cover violates every journalistic rule in the books. The brainwashing they've inflicted on their viewers is astonishing. I for one was glad Roger Ailes is now out of there. It won't stop the damage they've caused to this country, but at least he's gone.

The mainstream media is not leftist. There is a long standing guiding tenet in journalism to not let the reporter's personal views taint the story. My understanding, Nixon was the first to label TV News as leftist. I think it was when Cronkite announced the failure of the Tet offensive in Viet Nam.
Of course now that they are competing against Fox, they have become less tedious on the subject. The soundbite seems to matter more than the content.

FWIW, I agree with JoeK (surprise!). They did a poll years ago which showed that >90% of journalists vote Democratic as a rule. But enough politics. Go Beatles!
