"Good Evening, New York City"!?!?! What a lame title. All I can think of is Bela Lugosi opening the front door of a Munsters-like mansion and inviting us in for a "drink."

Still, this thing seems like it will be cool. It is pretty thorough. I am a little mad that Paul did just a mini-U.S. tour as I have caught every U.S. tour of his since 1989 and there are not many acts I would see live anymore, Paul being one of the few I would go to.

Paul doesn't venture downunder anymore because he just doesn't sell enough tickets to pay for the touring extravaganza

I already have Macca's "Back in the U.S." and "PM in Red Square" DVD's. How many more DVD's of "Let it Be", "Yesterday", "Hey Jude", "Something", "Here Today", "Sgt.Pepper/The End", etc., etc., etc., do I need? I just spent almost $200 to upgrade my Beatles catalogue. (I passed on the mono set). I am one of the biggest Beatlefans in the world; but I am drawing a line. Do I need yet another DVD of Paul's current band doing the same material in a venue just like he has been doing now for the last decade? I feel like John and George did after Candlestick in 1966. Enough already with the same music on the same tour as before! NO, I am not buying the Citi Field DVD/CD!! Does anyone else feel like me? Yes, I do. I must admit to recently playing both Tripping The Live Fantastic and Back In The U.S. for the first time in years. I was delighted by the former and blown away by the latter, a chronicle of the 2002 tour. I am not really up though for yet another live c.d. and dvd. This will be a product with a high price to begin with but it will quickly fall. Not because it is a bad product but because the majority of fans are burned out and this will have very little appeal, if any, to the general music buying crowd at large. lowbasso and JSD, I feel the same way you do. I will wait to get this CD/DVD. I would rather catch up on some of his other music first. I also think that with this economy being the way it is people won't be eager to buy this because he has other Live CD/DVD's and some people will be careful with their money.

Fred, I thought that this was going to be like $65.00 with three dvd's. The Best Buy ad lists both the cd and cd/dvd as $19.99 and that doesn't sound like three dvd's.

Perhaps Steve has the inside scoop on the discrepency of the originally quoted prices to what the prices are now from Best Buy and Amazon. All I can say is that $19.99 is a much more reasonable price.

Well, the e-mail came from paulmccartney.com and the deluxe apparently has a c.d., a dvd of the NYC concert and perhaps a second dvd of the Letterman appearance and the film shown at the concert.
There are not three dvd's as earlier stated and the price is clearly not $65.00 as early suggested. Paul's website lists the deluxe at like $23.99 which tells me that is what Best Buy is selling for $19.99.
Paul's website is giving out some free downloads of material off this new release for those who like doing that.

They're both on my iPod and it's nice to have a little preview of the upcoming release. Seeing the 'Highway' video brought back good memories of the concert I attended on the final night.

I may have grossly misunderstood Paul in his interview on paulmccartney.com but I am afraid that this new dvd is not professionally shot but uses scores of hand held cell-phone camcorders so the viewer can feel the concert like the audience did? That is disappointing if true.
Ever since the film Get Back, I have been hoping for a simple videotaping of a Macca concert with little editing and just a straight forward but professionally shot videotape of one single concert. Instead we have gotten artsy-fartsy films where Paul will be singing "Get Back" but spliced with a dozen different performances of the same song(he is wearing different clothing throughout the same song, etc) or extended audience shots of grown men crying and women beating their breasts.

The clip of Highway I had in my Examiner column and that's on Paul site is professional. I think the artsy thing is a special feature. I dont' know for sure, though. I hope to get an advance copy for review.

I wish they'd do his DVDs to please the fans and not him (viz. the one which airbrushed Heather out and had him making the day for unsuspecting fan family [although why did they think they had a film crew following them around, fer heaven's sake?])

Regards, Beatle Bob Boy, it's obvious this hard cover edition is influenced by the bootleg label HMC and their releases! Almost in every way identical in appearance, approach and concept. Just a bit bigger. Regards, Beatle Bob
