... they had been more imaginative with what they included in the remasters boxes? Yes I'll take everything you have given us, Apple, stereo and mono. But I would have liked
*a DVD of all their "music videos", instead of the lame-o collection of those "mini documentaries".
*a reprint of the GET BACK book, that came in the original box of the Let It Be album
*at least one of Glyn Johns' GET BACK albums - preferably both
*the Beatles' XMAS album - definitely
A great opportunity lost. But Hey Apple, don't make it bad: there's nothing to stop you issuing these in another box. We'll buy it! And if you pm me, I'll tell you some more goodies you could include in that box, too!

The Remasters only needed to include the Remastered Albums. I'm all for seeing those other Beatles-related projects as well, but released separately.

Yes, the stereo boxes should have had something special, something better than the mini-doc dvd, in them! Same with the mono box.
All of McCabe's ideas are very good especially the Christmas album as that might not be a "stand alone" thing for commercial sale. Same with the "Get Back" book. How I would love to have that.
A dvd comp of the videos might be too good to expect as a bonus treat for the remaster boxes but I like the thought.
Fred, I don't think that we need links to other Board's specific Threads here. Some there may not want their posts to show up here and vice versa; I don't want my posts appearing on a Board I am not a member of.

These remasters are wonderful and I know that someday I will get to play them other than on headphones or on my crappy car stereo! These "what-ifs" are fun and we can only hope that we get these other things released.

Just for the record: these ideas are out of my own head. Though a member of Sulpy's board, I hardly ever go there as I find Sulpy and his co-administrators have an odd attitude to the Beatles. And they in their turn may find me a little odd, too!

I wasn't saying you stole the idea! *LOL* I was just saying I brought it up there...it's quiet a common idea we all have....those damn promo videos needed an outlet and these stereo remastered CDs were the perfect place for them! Don't fear Doug and the co-admin over there. They are what they are and they will let you be. Regards, Beatle Bob

The videos should have been released with 1. They probably didn't want fans to buy one over the other-would have impacted "album" sales, an important stat to the organization.
I would be curious how stuff like Hey Jude and Revolution will get mastered if they ever do release a video collection. You can't (shouldn't) edit out the doo wops and "you know it's gonna be", but I would love if they could edit out Paul's pre-recorded double vocal on Hey Jude-it really ruins the video and the song.

...and similar with the Let it Be three singles-do you sync the live with the released single versions or just show the (really) stripped down live versions as per Anthology?

Just show the stripped down live version of Let It Be! For Get Back, though, I really do like the video from 2003 (LIBN promo maybe?) that was edited really well and had a couple nice moments of the fabs looking happy together and Billy Preston too. I'm not sure what version of the song they used for that, but the video is great.
Same with Revolution. No need to dub the single version over the David Frost clip. That would be awful, just include the clip.

With Revolution, they could OOPS out the live vocals and then mix them in with the backing tracks properly.

I think the live vocals on both videos will be left intact as they were for Anthology and in the promo versions sent to video music cable stations in the 90's. Regards, Beatle Bob

Just looking in on this thread again, I think the videos and the Christmas album are very likely, especially the latter since they put part of it in "Rock Band." I would have preferred seeing the "Get Back" album than "Let It Be ... Naked," but I have to say I like it a lot more than I did when it was released and, in fact, I don't mind it very much at all now. I still would like to see at least one of the versions of GB out, though.

Yep, certainly when the Beatles are finally on iTunes (I'm putting my money on Summer 2010), all their promo films will be there at the same time, probably for sale individually and as a complete set. Of course DVDs and Blu-rays sets will come out too.
