I found those on Google Images and they are spectacular, aren't they! Those could be my favorite images of The Beatles. John and Paul look exhausted but the photos are very revealing. lowbasso, I recently watched the 1976 National Championship Game between the undefeated Hoosiers and Big 10 rivals Michigan. I know that athletes today are said to be better, faster more agile, etc. but if that 1976 I.U. team could jump in a time machine and play in the 2009/2010 season, they'd be right back in the Final Four in Indy and would destroy any of these four teams actually there. They don't build them like Bobby Wilkerson(who got hurt early keeping Michigan in the game longer than they would if he wasn't hurt), Quinn Buckner, Scott May or Kent Benson anymore. All tough guys who played as a true team.

The only team that gave the '76 Hoosiers a scare was the overtime victory in the regular season over Michigan State. I sat in Assembly Hall in a courtside seat for that one under the net. And we all marvelled at the talented freshman guard playing for Michigan State named Earvin Johnson who almost handed Indiana their first defeat of the season. I am hoping Butler recreates the magic of the movie HOOSIERS, and takes it all this weekend with a game winning shot over Duke in the Final while Bobby Plump at 73 years of age (the real Jimmy Chitwood) sits courtside and watches his ol' college alma mater do what he did for Milan High School in 1954!

Can you believe it! Butler is in the BIG GAME! We need Bobby Plump sitting under the Butler basket so the guys can see him for every shot they take on Monday night, along with Dennis Hopper listening on his radio from his haspital bed (where he unfortunately may be due to his prostate cancer situation), and seated behind the Butler bench should be Gene Hackman and Barbara Hershey, along with Oscar Robertson (who went to Crispus Attucks High School, e few miles from Butler), John Wooden (who went to high school in Martinsville) , Steve Alford, Isaiah Thomas, Larry Bird, Scotty May, Quinn Buckner, and Kent Benson; all off Indiana National Champion teams (except Larry who lost to Michigan State in 1979, but still went on to a lot of NBA titles) and even Bobby Knight and a giant photo of Branch McCracken in a chair (he coached Indiana to its first national title in 1940 at the age of 31) It will be Hoosier Night in Indianapolis tomorrow night! We need all the karma we can get to pull off the ultimate dream upset over Duke!! INSTANT KARMA'S GONNA GET YOU!!!!!

My dad played basketball for tiny Osgood High School and he played against and beat a sophomore Bobby Plump and Milan High School when my dad was a senior. People forget that Milan made it to the Indiana High School Final Four Plump's junior year, the year before they won it all (Plump's senior year), so Milan was no fluke or no surprise to basketball pundits. Milan is still an amazing basketball story because that place is so small and they beat high schools from big cities that had great ballplayers. As lowbasso mentioned, Bobby Plump had a good career at Butler University but no NCAA National Championship of course. Go Butler Bulldogs!
