Do you think we'll be seeing Ringo remasters in the near future? ;D

How is it this Beatle board has so little regard for the drummer? He's rather well regarded elsewhere. Geez, you don't like his solo music, don't listen to it! How many more cheap shots?

Agreed. Ringo deserves more respect. I would to love see at least a deluxe edition of the 'Ringo' and 'Goodnight Vienna' albums released with extensive liner notes on the making of the albums, rare photos, B-sides and outtakes.

How well did the Photograph greatest hits sell? That might say a lot about anyone's interest in putting together deluxe Ringo CDs or remastering anything.
Still, many lesser albums receive special treatment from the labels and surely don't sell much.

Come on, anyoneanyhow, historywak wasn't being that tough on Ringo. Ringo would probably be the first to dismiss the string of albums he did after Goodnight Vienna and prior to Time Takes Time(he might defend "Roses" and "Old Wave" but they still tanked). RINGO and GV did get the special treatment several years ago and I thought that they were great as reissued. I would love to see a reissued Time Takes Time which is still the Ringo album I turn to today for enjoyment from start to finish. I concede that RINGO is better than TTT but TTT meant more to me in my life than RINGO which was released two years before I was a fanatic although I certainly remember all the singles off it from WLS. It is a fair question to ask if Ringo's catalog will be reissued in remastered form with bonus music and artwork but I am afraid that brothermichael is being most realistic about it. Perceived sales will drive such projects(or deter them).

OK, obviously the question regarding Ringo getting the remaster treatment was presented as absurd. Is anyone doubting that?
Yes, Ringo has a bunch of less-than-top-notch efforts in the late 70's, which only a real Beatle fanatic could love (and not many of those, either.) Not to say that there aren't a few excellent songs on each of those albums. I can say the same for McCartney's LP's.
It's just that we at this board are always taking the cheap shot at Ringo, and also often denigrate George's talents. This idea that we need to annoint one star Beatle and cast off the others really gets to me. They wouldn't have been the Beatles if they had less than four real contributors, four real stars.
Admit it JSD, in your heart of hearts you're itching for the 3CD + DVD version of Ringorama.

OK, obviously the question regarding Ringo getting the remaster treatment was presented as absurd. Is anyone doubting that? Well, historywak's use of ;D did kind of puzzle me as to whether he thought a reissued Ringo catalog was absurd. You're right though, groups like The Partridge Family, The Cowsills and The Monkees are getting the remastered treatment so Ringo would be entitled to such cleaning-up of his catalog and maybe a single record company could buy the rights to all and we could have a nice, affordable boxset. That would be cool! That's a fair statement. I like a song or two off even Ringo's lamest albums. "Excellent" might still be too strong though for any song off Ringo The 4th. I think we here are fanatical fans sharing our deepest, darkest concerns or disappointments about certain aspects of all four Beatles to each other that we would never share with outsiders. I may say here that I wish George was as good a lead guitarist as Eric or Jimi but I would point out George's guitar strengths to younger or new fans or those thinking they might want to get into The Beatles. Here I can say it because everyone is familiar with George's limitations as a rock and roll lead guitarist post-1964. We are years beyond making infantile claims that George, "is the greatest guitarist ever." I will say that George is a better man with a better heart than Eric or Jimi, no question about it. In the end that is more important anyway. LOL! Actually, Ringorama has leaped ahead of Vertical Man for me and is now my third favorite Ringo album behind TTT and RINGO. But yeah, I was pretty hot about buying what was deluxe and then Ringo releasing something with more bells and whistles a month later. Paul really burned us with the first "deluxe" MAF but the second "deluxe" MAF with the dvd was better but by then we all owned three copies of the damn thing.

Well, the reason I used that was because we are getting new John Lennon, Apple, and Paul McCartney remasters all around the same time. Ringo is all that's left as far as getting new remasters go (With the exception of GH's Dark Horse and Extra Texture) and with the rate we're getting them, it wouldn't be surprising if Ringo remasters were right around the corner.

We are being bombarded with remasters all of a sudden. I wish the Harrison Estate would just get it over with and give us the remastered DH and ET! I recently enjoyed DH for the first time and it is the perfect album to play if one's life sucks. It is a great depression album! We need those sometimes; all music can't be thumbs-up and sunny! "King Of Broken Hearts" is a great song.

Ringo Rotogravure was my sister's 1st Ringo LP; and it is a favorite of mine ...it was a fun LP that my sister loved-so did I...most of the Ringo's albums are fun albums for me-love Time Takes Time too-picked that one out of a discount bin...for a few dollars and have enjoyed the heck out of it...specially "I Don't Believe You"-can almost picture John, Paul, George singing in the background.

What, no Ringo thread updated today? That aint right.
Let's hold off on Ringo's remasters until Paul's are done. When is that? 2016? It seems like I've seen that date somewhere but it doesn't seem like they're coming out fast enough to be done by then.
I put a couple of songs from Ringo the 4th on my Ringo playlist, Out on the Streets, sounds kind of cool with headphones on, a little Eltonish from around that time and Gypsies in Flight, a country tune. These songs are ...well not great ...they're ...they're the best songs on that album. So there. That's something. Get them away from Does She Do It Like She Dances and they're not that bad.

I'd release the Ringo remasters straight after the Let it Be with bonus material dvd is released....That will give Ringo time to scour the vaults for some unreleased gems......

I'm going to buy the Blu-ray with the double cd bonus tracks. But "give Ringo time"? You know he will be dead by then , don't you? A modern man can only live so long.
