Now that the British catalog or the Beatles standard catalog has been remastered and available for the past year and change on CD, is there still any interest in Capitol's American titles?
The Capitol Albums Volumes 1 & 2 are still available, and I assume are still in print. I never bought either set, but of late I could be tempted toward them. Reason being, I've been leafing through Bruce Spizer's Capitol series, and my curiosity for them has been aroused. I ripped the new remasters to my hard drive and arranged the songs in the American configurations out of pure giggles value.
I still think that possibly we could see a volume 3, but I'm not holding my breath. Or have I just lost my mind?

I'd say given the long time that has been since Vol. 2 came out it's highly unlikely we'll see a third volume. Also I think that now that the proper catalogue has been remastered a lot of people would have lost interest, since one of the main attractions of these sets, other than nostalgia for those that got all these albums originally, was to get some songs in stereo and mono mixes not available anywhere else.
And also, IMO, the remaining albums are not as attractive, other than Yesterday and Today which is different enough. The other would be the American Revolver which is just a truncated UK version (I do think it has three unique mixes, certainly I'm Only Sleeping and two other). Then there's MMT but that's the same as the album available now.

I still want Volume III and demand that it should include "The Beatles Story" and "Hey Jude"!

I've inquired about this a couple of times and it appears to be out of the line of vision. Economics probably has a lot to do with it. And yeah, they're still in print and well worth getting if you don't have them.

Recently I found Volume 1 in my fave indy record store. It was priced at $14.99, so I bought it. Really, where else was I going to find 4 CDs at that price? Listening to Meet The Beatles was fun, I'll admit. But I have to say I liked the mono mixes much more than the stereo ones.
I also have a copy of Volume 2. I always wanted to hear the American version of Help, and with that I never heard The Early Beatles. I know it's a truncated version of Please Please Me, it was Capitol's remixing of the songs I was after.
For years I was after a copy of United Artists issue of A Hard Day's Night. Then I over researched the matter, and didn't buy a copy after finding one in reasonable condition. Reason being was: The Beatles' songs were never actually in stereo on the album. In both the mono and stereo pressings The Beatles' songs are in mono it's the George Martin instrumentals that are in stereo. Since I don't know if UA remixed the songs or not so I just didn't buy the record. Also, I do believe that UA released the George Martin material on 45 RPM singles. So with the release of the British A Hard Days Night on cleaned up CDs and a new vinyl pressing the UA version of the album became less attractive to me.

I bought Volumes I and II, played them once all the way through and that was it. I am glad I own them and part of me wants Vol. III since Capitol went to Vol. II but it sounds dead in the water.
