Thanks. Yes, it's true. I've always thought it was nice of New York City and Pasadena to go all out for my birthday.
It's expected to be 79 degrees here today (that's 26 to you celsius folks). If you take a glance at the Tournament of Roses Parade or the Rose Bowl game tomorrow, don't be too jealous, but you'll know why we love it out here, despite earthquakes, violent wind storms, fires, no NFL, the Kardashians, 90 minutes drives to go 25 miles, and smog.
JohnS, congrats on IU. My Bruins are a sorry bunch this year. Football had a losing record, but still got into a bowl game (it's nice to have NCAA clout), and the basketballers are starting off league play at 0-2. Oh, well, our women's volleyballers did beat Indiana for the title. But, we won't talk about those sorry Chargers. At least the Colts had an excuse. What's your view on the Andrew Luck thing?

If you take a glance at the Tournament of Roses Parade or the Rose Bowl game tomorrow, don't be too jealous, but you'll know why we love it out here, despite earthquakes, violent wind storms, fires, no NFL, the Kardashians, 90 minutes drives to go 25 miles, and smog. LOL! Don't forget the Manson Family but they are kind of long in the tooth. We got our first real cold weather, under 20 Degrees at night. I didn't see the Occupy Rose Bowl float! It would be funny if it would have won an award. Thanks, you knew, sayne, that I was dying these past three or four years as I.U. couldn't even get in the post-season N.I.T. tourney let alone the Big Dance! We might be back where we are consistently competitive at least. As to Colts, it is huge news here in Indiana that Colts' Vice Chairman Bill Polian(and his son, the GM) got fired. Polian built us to what we were until this year but he has had a bad track record recently with draft choices and he let our Offensive Line slip. The Peyton Manning injury is not his fault of course but we still should have been better than two games won! I actually think the Head Coach Jim Caldwell needs to be fired. Super nice guy and a Christian( that's what his Hoosier supporters always point out, as if that's relevant to his job title) but I think that he is not NFL Head Coach material. I am all for recruiting Luck as I fear Peyton will never play again. His neck injuries were more serious than ever imagined. I can assure you sayne that back in July 2011 no one in Indiana could have guessed that Manning would not play a single down this year. That snuck up on us and bit us. It was either hidden by the Colts powers that be or it caught them off guard too! Wow, what a year to forget. Oh yeah, and Madonna is the Halftime performer at the Indy Super Bowl! I think that I will watch "Give My Regards To Broadstreet" and "Shanghai Surprise" during this year's Super Bowl!
