I took WTB 2, which surprised me a bit.
I like the first two tracks from AR 1, and have a higher tolerance for "Maxwell" than some. But I'm not crazy about "Oh Darling," can take or leave "Octopus's Garden" and have little use for "I Want You," as I think it's a one-trick pony. I've seen the trick enough times that I'm not amused.
WTB 2 has two great covers to open and close the side, an energetic Ringo track, and the rest is fine--"Devil In Her Heart" is the weakest spot. What tipped the scales--and it WAS close--was my new appreciation for "Hold Me Tight" after seeing the movie ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. Funny how it took a cover version and the visuals of that movie to make this song come alive for me, but it did.

WTB2..There's just so much more here to get excited about. No doubt that AR1 is really good but has a few tracks that while good are so so in Beatles Terms.

AR1, easily. Extract Maxwell and you have what is one of the very best, if not the best, sides in the catalogue. While I love early Beatles, WTB2 is probably the weakest of the early sides, the covers are just not that inspired. yes, imo.
