In a CBS Sunday Morning story about Bellevue Hospital this morning, it's mentioned that Lennon was brought there after being shot. "In one of the great ironies of this story, Pus-sucker (not sic) was being examined by psychiatrists probably 100 feet away from where John Lennon's body was in the morgue." I did not research the timeline of that horrible night, December 8, 1980, but was not John first rushed by the police to Roosevelt Hospital? Was CBS saying John's remains ultimately made it to Bellevue?

He went to Roosevelt. No idea of the proximity of the two hospitals to each other - maybe its SOP for them to transfer to Bellvue after death?

It mentions the same quote here, a little passed halfway down. news.immitate.com/2020/03/22/bellevue-the-storied-history-of-americas-oldest-public-hospital/" And singer John Lennon was brought here after he was shot, along with his assassin. Oshinsky said, “In one of the great ironies of this story¸ Mark Chapman was being examined by psychiatrists probably 100 feet away from where John Lennon’s body was in the morgue.”" The wiki on Bellevue mentions Pus-Sucker being shuttled there from Rikers, but no mention on Lennon being there.

On the CBS Evening News tonight, "...the condition of an eighty-eight year-old coronavirus patient named Rita Rooney is now listed as code sun. ...code sun means a patient has recovered and is now being discharged. And after two weeks of treatment, Rita was serenaded by medical workers. And... can you hear it. Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. Way to go, lovely Rita. It's alright."

I like the "Lovely Rita" reference even though I was relieved that that was not the song they serenaded the old girl to! I thought that was where the story was heading. "Here Comes The Sun" is the perfect song to play when we get through this crisis.

What the frack! At the end of a Battlestar Galactica episode running in a three day marathon this week, in the episode titled Hero, there was this animation of Ronald D Moore and Glen Larson, the creators of the series.
Ronald says "Back masking." Glen suddenly has a Pepper uniform on and round sun glasses and he's holding a big number nine while psychedelic sitar music is playing. He hands the nine to Ronald and says "Turn me on dead man".

I was one of those enthusiastic kids singing along loudly to the helpful lyrics provided! I wasn't wearing Beatles clothes, I wasn't wearing anything! I later did The Mumbo Stomp.

I've mentioned Better Things here several times before for all their Beatle references, most notably the use of Mother as a opening theme song and the use of a zebra crosswalk.
I just noticed the season 1 title Woman is the Something of the Something. My apologies if I've noticed it before and posted it here already.

The page of handwritten lyrics to a Beatles' song going up for auction next month got a mention on Late Night With Seth Meyers last night.
It is expected to sell for up to $300,000. Seth says it would go for more but unfortunately it's all the Nah, Nah, Nah Nahs from Hey Jude.
(Seth starts to sing the Nah Nahs but stops himself. "Ooops. Can we clear that?" No doubt a reference to the costliness of using Beatle songs.)

Hey, Tuesday, May 5, 2020, my buddy Sheryl Crow performed George's "Beware Of Darkness" on Colbert's Late Show: It's not half-bad although Sheryl is still bitter that Olivia Harrison told her to piss of at The Concert For George because she didn't know George so she couldn't play although in hindsight Sheryl would have added more than Ringo did who lazily played two songs already on his All-Starr setlist! Some of you might recall that my boys The Avett Brothers performed "Give Me Love(Give Me Peace On Earth)" on Colbert back in January 2017.

On the PBS series Asian Americans, there was a clip of John Lennon from The Mike Douglas Show introducing the Asian American Folk group Yellow Pearl.
John was very enthusiastic in introducing them.

Get out!! I was watching Asian Americans just last night; the first time I'd seen it. I just happened to stumble on it. It held my attention and I watched all two hours of it. It was about the Chinese Americans Exclusion Act and the Japanese internment camps.

So anyway, I was watching the Greatest American Hero, an episode called Wizards and Warlocks from February 10, 1983. This is very solidly in "Too much time on my hands" territory.
But the William Katt character, who is a teacher, was saying "It's very strange, isn't it? How we change and never know it. I mean going back to that college today. Seeing those kids. I mean I was there SIX YEARS ago and it seams like 26. You know the other day I was in class, and I heard one of my students saying to a girlfriend... She says "Did you realize Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?"".
The Connie Sellecca character asks "He was?"
"Yes!" replies a frustrated William Katt. "He was in the Be...." Connie starts laughing. She's just kidding him. She knows Paul McCartney was in the Beatles.
I'd heard that before as a "One day, someone will say" story.

On Legends of Tomorrow, from Tuesday, the Nate character tries to convince Charlie the world she is now living in is skewed up. He says "I know you think free will is a bad scary thing, so we did a little dumpster diving to give you some counter points."
"Two words. The Beatles!" He holds up an LP copy of the White Album and continues. "Alright, they taught an entire generation that even during war and tragedy we can still make beauty."
Charlie adds "While also inspiring Charles Manson to commit the most brutal murders in history. And also they let Ringo sing a song about an octopus."
A frustrated Nate stormed off.

I have never heard of the show but that is funny! Jokes at Ringo's expense usually gets big laughs even with non-Beatle People!

Another oldie from Greatest American Hero.
Our hero Ralph was speaking to a student about Bill Maxwell, the FBI tough guy character. "He's alright once you get through the veneer. While we were all sitting around listening to the Beatles and drinking decaffeinated coffee, he was out digging the trenches, keeping our country safe."
Ralph was speaking to Tony, the classroom problem child, played by Michael Pare. He was Eddie in the Eddie and the Cruisers movies. He was in the same group of students in the earlier episode who had questioned if Paul was in a band before Wings. No comment from Tony.

On the Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight, Stephen is talking about his guest John Bolton and Trump saying Bolton should be arrested. Stephen asks that they wait until after Bolton's appearance on the show.
"I don't want a repeat of Paul McCartney." The show displays a picture of Paul being led off the show in handcuffs by a uniform police. "Turns out his band was on the run."
Stephen does a little dance and a banner flashes "Bang Bang Maxwell's Silver Slammer".

This morning on Today, Jenna Bush had her baby's hair styled with bangs and what looked like sideburns.
Carson Daly said "It looks like he is in the rock band Oasis".
Jenna replied "We prefer the Beatles".
