The Today Show did their "Guess the favorite streamed Beatle song" story this morning. They then asked what everyone's favorite song was. Al said With a Little Help From My Friends, Savannah said Something, Natalie said Hey Jude. Carson Daly said Revolution. Dillon said Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, to which Savannah asks "You know what that means, don't you?" To which she replied "I have a feeling. I like the beat!"

The Tina Fey/Amy Poehler guest host appearance on Saturday Night Live gets repeated tonight. It's the one with musical guest Bruce Springteen that Paul shows up on.
It was slightly delayed last time and I missed Paul.

On the local news tonight, "the Fund for the Arts is teaming up with Churchill Downs and the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation to support the local arts community. Supporters helped kick off the campaign today with performances at the annual showcase and Churchill Downs will raise money at the opening night of the spring meet, Saturday April 30th, which is the kickoff to Derby Week."
All through the announcement, about thirty little kids were dancing in front of a mural depicting an Octopuses' Garden. The recording was playing in the background.
FYI, Jennifer Lawrence is from Louisville (and I love her so much).
"The opportunity for the arts to be a part of that (Derby Week at Churchill Downs), when you come out for racing that night with 30,000 guests, you will see 12 performances, with performances, visual arts..., all across the track, in 12 different locations. It really has a chance to make this a new tradition, in this important week for Louisville."
Jennifer said she was thrilled by the partnership.

From Feb 3rd's Arrow:
"I can breach your firewall faster than I can remove the DRMs (Digital Rights Management) off a Beatles' tune."
A few minutes later, Arrow asks "How much time do we have?"
Felicity answers "It's a long story but somewhere between I Want To Hold Your Hand and Hey Jude."

There was a tragic story on NBC's Today this morning that unfortunately had a Beatle connection. Tara Fitzgerald, a 17 year old Minnesota teenager and Beatle's fan, decided she wanted to take LSD. Her friend said she was a fan of the Beatles and they obviously talk about that kind of thing. She was sold a synthetic drug called 25i-NBOMe. One small dose killed her. Very sad.

Not TV, but on the jumble this week (and I paraphrase because I already recycled the paper) the clue was something about why did John Lennon want to try a certain kind of pizza. The answer was that he wanted to "give pizza a chance"!

Hawkgirl says "Come on. Everyone has a favorite Beatle". Brandon replies "Not me, It wouldn't be fair to the other three".

BEATLES IN THE NEWSPAPER In today's USA Today, there was an article by Rick Hamson titled "'Swinging London' Observes 50th Birthday". It had a picture of the Beatles and the following paragraphs: "The other day he was leading a group of teenagers on a Sherlock Holmes walk that happened to pass the site in Soho of Trident Studios, where pop classics such as the Beatles’ Hey Jude (1968) were recorded. The kids, who’d shown no interest in Holmes and Watson, came alive, snapping selfie after selfie in front of a list of Trident recordings posted in the old studio’s window." Dana Carvey did ten minutes or so on meeting McCartney back in the Saturday Night Live days. Apparently Paul play a track form Flowers in the Dirt for the crowd. Paul leaned in to Dana and said "You know, sometimes you try so hard to live up to being whatever, you end up ruining the f*%K".
Dana told Paul to bring the new album the next night and he did. Dana says "Oh , you brought the new album". And Linda says "See, I told you he'd want to hear it." Dana is so proud that they talked about him. He's does Paul, brushing his teeth, talking about Dana.
He continues on with more on Paul ending with Paul being a really good masseuse.

On Late Night with Seth Meyers last night, Judd Apatow was talking about being in awe of meeting David Letterman. "He's like seeing big-foot. We were trying to be respectful though. We really could get weird and creepy easily."
They begin talking about his new movie, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, where Andy Sandburg plays Conner4real. Seth says "One of the cameos you got;" he say's,, holding up a photo, "here's you and Akiva and Ringo Starr. How was your Ringo Starr meeting?"
Judd: "I wasn't very excited to meet him at all." The crowd goes nuts, knowing he's joking. "We were interviewing him (in the film), so in the movie he's talking about Conner4real, So we're trying to get him to talk about Conner4real, and I said to him "Why don't you talk about how sometimes when bands break up, It's good. Because then all the different members get to do all sorts of other cool things. Like you and the Beatles". And he went "No, us breaking up was a huge mistake"", he says shaking his head as Ringo. "It was a terrible thing to do."
"Then you just go "Oh, my god, he's talking about the Beatles". And then the rest of the day, the crew would walk up to me in tears because he was there. They mean so much to people."
He continues "And then there was a weird period at the Improve, where Paul McCartney kept coming to the club just to watch stand-up." Then one day, I wasn't there and they said "He came again. We took pictures of him." They took picture of him in the bathroom.
Seth holds up one of the pictures of Paul in the bathroom with the Improve crowd. (Big laugh from the audience.) Seth comments, "Well, now we have our creepiest photo!"

CBS This Morning: Saturday did a story today called Tomorrow Never Knows with writer Chuck Klosterman on how things will be viewed in the future, historically as opposed to how we think they will be viewed.
One topic in the subject dealt with Rock and Roll. Who will come to symbolize it, as Sousa represents marching music or Marley represents Raggae? He says the obvious choice for Rock Music is the Beatles, in a rational world. But Rock Music as a trope, if we get far enough away, is better represented by Chuck Berry.
