I didn't see this discussed in the other recent Threads but not only will Ringo Tour in 2015(see the Thread started by SallyG) but he has a new album coming and he has worked on it, "with Toto guitarist and current All-Starr Band member Steve Lukather, along with Peter Frampton, Richard Marx, Dave Stewart, Glen Ballard and Nashville songwriter Gary Nicholson." From Billboard: www.billboard.com/articles/news/6422342/ringo-starr-announces-new-album-tour-for-spring-2015Ringo says there will be a reggae song! Damn, first Paul with Kanye now Ringo doing reggae! We need to work hard as fans to push this album to #1 on the Billboard 200! If everyone who saw Ringo on his last tour would simply buy this album on the first week of release he'd have a #1! That is not too much to ask but too many Ringo fans are stuck on 1973. We need to support Ringo's current music! Let the countdown begin for the new Ringo album! He is producing it himself. This may be a monster hit especially with his induction into the RRHF on whatever ground that was.

This forthcoming new album was reported back in 2014. At the time I think a release date of February 2015 was suggested. Now they are saying it will come out "sometime" this year. Who knows? I am ready to buy a new Ringo studio album. Liked Y Not, wasn't so impressed with Ringo 2012. Let's face it, I buy them all.

I'm with you KC, I'll buy it and I may buy it twice if Ringo pulls a Paul and re-releases it a second time in a "deluxe" version! I wonder if any of the new songs name-check "It Don't Come Easy" or John's "Imagine?"

Then I brought up 2012 in iTunes. It's got some good tracks on it. I like Anthem, with the opening sample of Glass Onion. The Wings remake made me appreciate both versions. I didn't card much for the earlier version until I heard this one. Think it Over is the best song on that Holley tribute. The Step Lightly remake is good. Slow Down rocks. I've been buying them all too. I'm ready for a new one.

Which is why every recent All-Starr attendee, plus us Beatles Message Board Members, must buy Ringo's new album first week of release! It is that easy to get a Billboard 200 #1! It proves what fake fans Paul has!! Paul sells millions of tickets every tour but do you think those pukes can even unite 50% to push Paul's new albums to a Billboard 200 #1?! Nope.

I hope the cd is called "Ringo the Gringo" Or Ringo From The Dingle although he has had three Liverpool songs it seems spread out on his last three studio albums, to win back the love of that city. Liverpool 8: "Liverpool 8" Y Not: "The Other Side of Liverpool" Ringo 2012: "In Liverpool" Hey, I never knew this, but all three were co-written by Ringo with Dave Stewart! Hmm, I bet they were all written at the same time, Ringo trying to come up with a great Liverpool song, and he has stretched them out over three albums. I love "Liverpool 8" and liked "The Other Side Of Liverpool" but cannot remember "In Liverpool" at all!

How about "Ringo the Gringo from the Dingle" Y Not? Ringo looked like such a badass in Blindman. I wish Netflix had it!

Does he have a song with lyrics that say:
But all you want is my autograph, And you realize, that I'm not giving out any more.

Yeah, around the same time Ringo had two of the greatest PR blunders in the history of Pop Music: (1) That video where a clearly pissed Ringo says no more autographs and he will no longer sign stuff to him mailed; and (2) Dissing Liverpool when in Liverpool saying basically, "Hell no I am never coming back here to live!" I will say he got more press for those two things than for any album of his after Goodnight Vienna.

Both statements, No Autographs and Don't Miss Liverpool both said in 2008, seemed to help the albums in the charts too. The previous album, Choose Love did not chart in the UK or the USA. Liverpool 8, released in January 2008, hit no. 91 in the UK and no. 94 in the US. The album following that, Y Not, released in January 2010, hit no. 58 in the US. (Wiki doesn't say what it did in the UK.)
A little more proof that the charts don't really mean much, Liverpool 8 reaching only 94 in the US, sold 31,000 copies and Y Not, reaching all the way up to 58 in the US, sold 1000 albums fewer. Of course both sales figures were only as of Feb 2010. Y Not may have sold more, quicker.

The new album's cover. It looks OK, I suppose. It's very similar to that of Photograph: The Very Best Of Ringo. I would have preferred something more original. The covers for Y Not and Ringo 2012 looked much the same to me also; perhaps even Time Takes Time and Vertical Man. Does Ringo choose his own covers?

It's not bad, IMO... at least Ringo isn't flashing that annoying and sometimes seemingly disingenuous peace sign!!

I am glad Ringo (and Paul) are still with us and still making records. Ringo seemed to lose his way during the latter half of the 70s. In the 1980s, despite some good work with Paul and George, he got totally Thomas the Tanked for much of that decade.
If I'm honest I've never expected too much of Ritchie's albums but there are a few little gems on his post 1990 CDs with "Time Takes Time" being a real return to top form. So I am looking forward to this release.
I am not sure how many records we have left to come from the Beatles Drum & Bass section. So I wonder if Macca will make an appearance on a track or two this time?

Ringo's title song is at www.brunchradio.com/. Click on the Vox box at the top. He mentions about a hundred song titles in it but I like the song.

Good Lord, really Ringo!?
debjorgo is not kidding, every line in that song sets out a song title or otherwise cites lyrics from Beatles or solo songs.
Is that really songwriting? If Ringo had never done that before, ever, I'd give him a pass and think it kind of fun. But he has, and lots of times.
BTW, thanks for the link debjorgo, I am not shooting the messenger, just that song!

Thanks for the link Debjorgo. I actually like the song but jeez. So Ringo how do you do it? You wanna know secret? You can't do that! It' all too much junk. I know it don't come easy. So wait, think for yourself and get back to something pure gold. Y Not? I think I've just written his next song!

I just heard "Postcards From Paradise", and I really liked it on first listen! When I was listening for the first minute or so, I was thinking "this is okay but it will have to be a grower for me". At first I too was cringing at Ringo's over-reliance on name checking older songs ("oh noooo.. not again.. it's like UBER-NAMECHECKING!!!")... but midway through this song, the song titles didn't bother me anymore, and I knew the song had already grown on me. I think the part of the song that really grabs me is the main "Postcards From Paradise" line that gets repeated.

I think Ringo is referencing the songs as postcards. Or snapshots of his life. "Oh, I remember that one, that's when I was ...."

You can buy three of the new album's tracks from iTunes now. I bought Postcards From Paradise, but didn't bother with the other two as I will get the CD when it comes out. This is the first time I've listened to PFP. It sounds OK, but talk about indolent writing! I'm sick of the Beatles references in Ringo's songs. Once, or perhaps twice was acceptable, but he seems intent on making it some sort of matrix for producing material. I just hope the rest of the album is better than this.
