Trump has a record out?Actually, this sounds right up your alley. Me, I have every solo album (except for a few Ringo albums). I'm not buying it because I have everything on it. I have never understood the insatiable demand to have everything an artist ever recorded in multiple releases. Is having multiple versions of Band on the Run on different releases when it is the same take really necessary? Why is having all my music on an Ipod mean I have "nothing" Joe? It all sounds as good as it can be at this point in time on this format. And it can go with me easily wherever I travel. If I want to sit at home at look at all the old vinyl jackets the Beatles music originally came in, I have the jackets to browse thru to reminisce. But when I want to hear the music I want the best possible options to hear it in. I am just simply not a fan that has to have everything ever created. I pick and chose my music according to what I want, not what the artist or the record companies think I should have. Hope you all enjoy the "new" album of songs you already have! I'll be on my bike with my Ipod, or in my car with my Ipod, or off in Europe with my Ipod listening to everything I love right at my fingertips and ear plugs! Beatles forever!

So, anybody buying the "mixed for iTunes" version? WHAT!? I have not heard of this! Oh no! I am starting to agree with lowbasso about iPods versus CDs! Thanks to scousette's recommendation, I bought a kick-ass Chicago(the band) compilation and because I am an amazon Prime member, I got the instant download of the entire album as well as the 2 CD Set. I within seconds ripped the download to my iPod 4 and my CD version remains in the shrink wrap yet the music sounds awesome blasting through my car speakers using the I{Pod 4! Tell me more debjorgo or Steve M about "Mixed for iTunes" Pure McCartney! I must get it!

Abbeyrd's Beatles Page Message Board II PURE MCCARTNEY Roll-Call:
Steve Marinucci: Free Press Copy of Deluxe, June 3, 2016.
JSD: 4 CD Deluxe Version, maybe iTunes exclusive mix. 4 CD Set amazon.com., maybe iTunes
KC: 4 CD Deluxe Version, 2 CD Version, I'll buy both in store.
Debjorgo: "I got a copy real cheap of the mp3s ...from my own collection...will wait for my retirement..."
Lowbasso: No but has what Solo Paul he needs...concedes could be essential for some fans.
MikeV: "I did this collection with my iTunes in say...about 2 minutes and STILL have the cash in my pocket, but I could put some lighter fluid on the cash, set it aflame and be like the rest of the Macca Hatters..."
JoeK: 4 CD Deluxe Version, and Vinyl Version -- "I'll buy both in store."

More care in taken by the artist in compressing the songs so that they sound better in the MP3 (actually AAC) form. I think all of Paul's Archive series releases have been Mastered for iTunes. The older releases, Red Rose Speedway, Wind Wild Life, have not.

I don't buy "everything ever created" either, not even if I could. It's a wildly untrue implication. So is your Ipod one of those things the companies "forced" you into having, because "they think you should?" I shall. But gee, you make it sound like that's a 'bad' thing. I can do that too. But only as a supplement to the actual physical collection. It's not actually having anything real.

Some alternative "Pure McCartney" as the countdown continues. Tim Christensen, Mike Viola, Tracy Bonham and The Damn Crystals sing the entire Ram album and more. They even pull off "Uncle Albert" live. So why can't Paul? Maybe Paul should think about using them on his "Pure McCartney Tour?". He could just play bass . How good was that. That's the best the RAM album has ever sounded. Yes I stumbled upon it actually. These guys sure put on a show. I was hugely impressed by the performance. As regards Paul's new compilation I will be hanging on. You never know someone might buy it as a gift for me.

The two disc sets are only shown for Best Buy and Target in the local copies of the Sunday newspapers sales. I would assume that the four disc sets will be available.

But only as a supplement to the actual physical collection. It's not actually having anything real. Actually I was thrilled when someone first showed me what an Ipod could do. Up until then I had to drag dozens of homemade CD's around with me on the road in order to hear my favorite music whenever I wanted. Suddenly there was this little toy that fit in your hand that could hold everything you wanted inside it. All your favorite music; in my case from my operas to the entire Beatles Catalogue in the order I wanted to hear it! The next thing you know you can plug that little toy into your car radio turning it into you own personal traveling stereo system so you hear exactly what you want to hear. As a music professional and music lover, that little toy was the best electronic device invented in my lifetime. It puts your music at your fingertips anytime, anywhere you want it. So no one had to sell me on this device! The music is what is real to me Joe. More so than cardboard album covers, vinyl discs, pictures, anything physical about Albums. The only thing that tops it would be seeing and hearing The Beatles live. That obviously can't happen now. It's not "bad" to own Paul's "new" album. Just seems silly to spend money to buy music you already own. But, whatever floats your boat as they say. It's your money to spend! And the record companies are always happy to re-package what already exists if folks will buy it! Enjoy!

The MPL executives, who are actually Paul's employees, may well of encouraged Paul to release a new "Best of" album to generate some cash flow for their Communications business.
A Best of is probably the most fruitful option at Paul's age. If Paul recorded a new album of original material, he would have to use his new band. Paul McCartney and the Auto Tuners.
They're not that well known at this point in time. That album wouldn't be all that Pure either.

McCartney has volumes of live stuff from the early 70s, late 70s, B sides, hundreds of unreleased studio recordings, demos, sessions with Elvis Costello, a whole LP with producer Phil Ramone so on and so on... And out comes this. Right. So there can't be this in the meantime. I wonder then why so many people got all excited over the Red and Blue Beatles compilation albums in 1973 ('62-'66 and '67-'70), what with all those "unreleased Beatles tracks" still as yet uncovered back in those days. See us "Coming" to what...? Coming to enjoyment and having fun? Yes, then I guess they do. Need I quote PT Barnum? Look, you might have fun opening retreads...as for Blue and Red-it was my second generation reintroduction to the Beatles and I enjoyed it as some second and third generation fans might of Pure McCartney. And yes I did buy several of the 2009 Remasters because of the sonic preparation that went into them. But I have enjoyment and fun spending that money on something new and fresh like Good Times, which looks like it will enter the Billboard Top 20. I will say, if Pure McCartney is completely remixed the way Paul recently did with "Say Say Say" creating basically a DIFFERENT version of songs, I would suddenly peak more of an interest, because it wouldn't sound like the 2 minute ipod exercise I did.

Time out Mike! I have an idea! I will gift you the Deluxe Pure McCartney so you don't have to spend a penny on it if you gift me the standard basic Good Times so I don't have to spend a penny on that album!
We both maintain our principles but have something in our hands.......hard copy CDs, not what John Lennon sang about in "I Found Out!"

I had to think about that "Axe" reference for a second but you are right! Mark, what about the appearance of Paul's latest smash single, "Hope For The Future?" I don't think that was available on CD was it, at least not surrounded by other Paul songs!

That was a one-time appointment. I did write a concurring opinion, and tried to work in a Beatles reference, but it didn't make the final edit: opinions.aoc.arkansas.gov/WebLink8/0/doc/338860/Electronic.aspxJcS
