An old Jr. High School friend of mine who lived about 5 blocks from me in Middletown, NJ when we were growing up and we did plays and musicals together all through Jr. High and High School on the Jersey Shore posted his sibling picture on Facebook this weekend. The date is about 1963. He is the kid in the middle, standing behind his little sister in front of their house on Wilson Ave. His name is Billy VanZandt. He went on to become an actor in Hollywood in such films as Jaws 2, Taps, and Star Trek; The Motion Picture. He also is a comic playwriter, with shows that have been on Off-Broadway in New York. He married the actress Adrienne Barbeau and they have two boys in college now. His older brother standing behind him in the picture is Steven VanZandt who went on to fame in The E Street Band with Bruce Springsteen. Now he is in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame... Funny what all us kids in that neighborhood turned out to do later in life.....

That looks like the entrance to my guitarist Johnny V's house where we have been rehearsing for 8 years!

Nice anecdote lowbasso! Steven VanZandt is a huge Beatles fan among lots of other bands! Hey, is National Sibling Day for real! I only heard about it on Facebook. Man, I didn't call my brother and sister but everyone on Facebook sure did.

I can't remember the number, but it is exactly opposite where Thorne Place comes into Wilson Ave. Been tryin for years to get Middletown Twp. Chamber of Commerce and Mayor's office to give Wilson Ave. the honorary designation of VanZandt Way in honor of both boys. Goes in and out of deaf ears over there.....

As for the designation, I used to be good friends with the Middletown Planning Director, but he moved to LA.

As for the designation, I used to be good friends with the Middletown Planning Director, but he moved to LA. They just poo-pooed my suggestion. Said they couldn't legally change the name of Wilson Ave. But I pointed out to them it is just an honorary designation, the street retains Wilson Ave. for legal and address purposes. You just post an additional sign on top of the existing street signs. No go. It is done all the time in major cities around the country.
