I’ve been waiting for the official announcement, which I believe is imminent.
However, I may as well say now that if the rumours are true and these new releases just consist of the Christmas messages in a box on individual 7” records and a picture disc version of Sgt. Pepper, also on vinyl, then I am disappointed with Beatles’ related releases yet again. I have no problem with the vinyl aficionados being catered to (it is a very nice looking box set), but give the rest of us something. Apparently CD sales still greatly outnumber that of records, and I personally am not interested in turning back the clock thirty or forty years to buy vinyl again.
There is no CD of the collected messages in the box; not even a collected messages LP, for that matter. No stand alone CD, or LP, of the collected messages. Not even any downloads of the collected messages. Remember when the Flowers In The Dirt box was released earlier in the year, we were told that downloads of bonus material were included, rather than CDs, because that was the way of the future?
The picture disc Sgt. Pepper is so redundant it isn’t even worth commenting on, IMO.
From my point of view, the new Ringo album has saved this year as far as Beatles' related releases are concerned.

That Christmas Message Box blows if it is just seven vinyl 45s! It wouldn't be that great on CD either but at least most of us could play it.
Ringo Starr saves the day with his new album Give More Love! I am boycotting this Xmas Box!

The way of the future is not downloading tracks. It's just listening to them on a music service.
I just about bought Pink Floyd's The Early Years. It is now the low price of $485.59 on amazon.com for a box set of 33 discs. I listened to it on Spotify, maybe the first disc and about half of the second disc. Great stuff! I'm kind of petered out on it now. I haven't listened to Spotify in weeks. I can't listen to it in my car, so I guess I'm done with the Floyd release.
Even if I could listen to it in my car, I'm not paying for the service. I doubt Pink Floyd would make much money from my listening.
That's the future. I guess Paul and the Beatles want to get to that as soon as possible.

By all means please do boycott it --- the rumor is it will be a limited edition, thus there will be more remaining for those of us who DO want it ! The vinyl freaks won't even play the damn things, these stupid vinyl Xmas singles will stay in their shrink-wrapped box and be a perceived trophy. I know how you vinyl fanatics are! Each time a vinyl record is played it is ground down ever so slightly until after many plays it is about useless! Apple can put these Xmas releases where the sun don't shine! True Beatles fans should be shaking their asses to Ringo's Give More Love!

Any truth to the Message Board rumors that these Xmas messages have been heavily edited for time purposes and, for instance, Yoko Ono has been completely edited out of the last two?! Like Ron Howard's recent film, apparently the editing favors mostly Paul but a little bit Ringo and lots of John and George bits we all know and love from our original versions or bootlegs have been cut so these things fit on the damn vinyl singles!

Here’s a nice little sampler.

I ordered it and applied my Amazon points which got it down to $66. If the price goes lower by the release date that’ll mean even more savings!

Maybe you're using the wrong size coin, John. Never put a quarter on the stylus when you can get away with using a dime!
I got the boot on cd a few years back. Before that, I had them all on cassette, recorded off the radio.
I'd gladly buy a legit copy.

I know you're just kidding us, but, you know, if they had just released an additional straight CD version of this box (7 CDs rather than 7 records) I would happily buy it.

Has this been confirmed yet? If it's correct then I'm not happy about it either. I don't quite understand why the times of the original 7" flexi discs would not fit on a 7" regular vinyl record.

I have this counterfeit/bootleg of the 1970 Beatles Christmas Album which has all the complete Christmas messages. I agree it would have been nice if a cd were added to the vinyl box set of the Christmas messages.

I was lucky enough to be in the Fan Club at the end, so I have the compilation....but nothing to play it on!

I am not either and am disappointed that a CD of these Xmas Messages is not being released in an affordable format. It could include extras like the extended "Christmastime Is Here Again" that was an extra song on the "Free As A Bird" CD single. If I was to buy it I would get it over amazon.com because most of these current record stores are drug dens filled with those Antifa thugs!

Interesting that the album cover includes photos of the Beatles taken in 1970.

Let me expand on something I've said on this board several times. I will gladly repurchase anything I have bought on bootleg, as long as it's released on 'CD'.

So, a CD version of this box did not appear for Christmas 2018. Maybe next year.
