Are there any Beatles songs that you would have been curious to see covered by another recording artist that were never made? A couple examples where I thought another recording artist could have pulled off a convincing version would be Johnny Cash covering "Mother Nature's Son" and Aretha Franklin covering "Blackbird".

Led Zeppelin covering Helter Skelter. That mash-up is pretty cool.
Bob Dylan covering You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
Willie Nelson covering Don't Pass Me By
Oasis covering Tomorrow Never Knows

The Rolling Stones doing Old Brown Shoe in 1971 or 1972 with Keith on lead vocals. I've often thought that Keef would be a good singer for most of George's songs. In fact, if I had a chance to meet Keith, I'd ask him to give a listen to Looking for My Life off of Brainwashed and consider it has a Stones tribute to George. It's got a Stones motif to it and it would be in Keith's wheelhouse. Relisten to it.

I loved Elton John's cover of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and I really thought he should next cover "Hey Jude." I really thought about that a lot and thought that Elton would have another #1. Some Beatles' songs might be too iconic for others to cover well and "Hey Jude" may be one of them.
Flash forward 23 years to 1997 and Elton John did sing a verse of "Hey Jude" at the Music For Montserrat benefit show. This was when Paul could still really sing "Hey Jude" and this is a great performance of it and one of Carl Perkins' last appearances!

Hey, that is totally badass! Dylan changes the words as much as John did at One-To-One! "He got Rolling Thunder," is brilliant! It says this is a 1985 rehearsal. That sounds about right by the state of Bob's vocal. It was still pretty good back then, not the croaky, smokey vocal of Dylan now. I bet if Bob had suggested this for the Wilburys, George would have jumped in! George wouldn't play Beatles' music with Paul but if Dylan suggested it, George would be in in a heartbeat!
