Obviously, with the recent releases of the Pepper and White Album boxes, the answer is technically no. But my question is really whether the '09s were a mike drop in the first place.
Honestly, for me, while I like them, I do like what Giles did with the White Album. And I'd have no problem with him revising everything like that (and also Pepper). I just don't want to pay for it.

I am confused. What are the '89 versions? I assume this was a typo?
Do you mean the 1987 original CD releases? Or perhaps more likely the 2009 remasters?
The 2009 remasters are much better than the old 80s CDs. The sonics have been fixed where necessary and given a needed volume boost without resorting to 'brickwalling' everything in the mix. However ALL of the albums pre-1967 still seriously need a modern remixing with today's technology. The stereo picture was frequently badly handled with vocals hard panned to one side of the mix.
Nobody wants to pay for music we already own I guess. But given that I purchased the new 3xCD White Album for less than I paid in the late 1980s then I am not complaining. Massive box sets are a different matter. I am not interested in paying the inflated amounts for those.
All of the WA50 tracks and outtakes are available to listen on Youtube and other streaming services if you look carefully for them. So if you really don't want to pay to hear these tracks you still can!

If I force myself off the fence, I would say that Giles' 2017 Stereo Remix of Pepper is my "Go-to" version of that album.
I am not so confident as to declare Giles' 2018 Stereo Remix of the WA my "Go-to" because of some glaring omissions like the muted guitars on "Helter Skelter" and Ringo's "Blisters" comment pacified and the criminal muting of John's climatic "Hey!" on "Monkey!"
Most of WA50 kicks ass, particularly John's lead vocals, but those aforementioned omissions and some others give me pause plus WA 2009 Stereo was pretty darn good in my opinion unlike 2009 Pepper Stereo which had all those panning issues.
Are the 2009 Stereo Pepper and WA still in print or do the 50th Anniversary versions officially replace both?

I could check with my contact at Capitol, John, but I believe the 2009s are the official versions for now, in spite of the new versions.

And that is fine with me but I assume all versions will stay on the market, including Pepper50 and WA50.
John Lennon's catalog got a little wild as there were the "Remixed" versions of John's Solo albums from the early through mid 2000's then there are the Remastered versions all from 2010 using John's original mixes.
I am on record as loving the Remixed Mind Games and Rock -n- Roll from the mid-2000's as bring those albums to life and they all have different bonus tracks then the 2010 Remastered versions. It is hard to find these earlier "Remixed" versions as the 2010 Remastered are the official catalog.
