According to Lewisohn, the house had been inherited by George Smith, husband of Mimi. John lived there for a couple of months in spring 1943 when Alf returned home. The majority of John's life prior to moving to Mendips was spent in 9 Newcastle Road.
So technically it was John's home, but only just!!!

Great recap Keith! Just barely yet enough John connection to be cool! Good old Uncle George Smith! He is an unsung hero in John's life and the poor guy had to live with Mimi all those years and be henpecked like few other husbands ever have!

Bit of a stretch calling it " his Liverpool home ".
