Sorry to defer on this one. I've always despised this song particularly because of those blasted bagpipes that only Paul would have the nerve of putting on any song. See, this is what I don't get --- "it has bagpipes so it SUCKS!" How does that make sense? Yep. And it does not need to make sense in your world, only mine. If you like those bagpipes so much, I would suggest a trip to Scotland and a well traveled search of all their parades. I just plain hate the sound of those pipes. Not even a Beatle can make them acceptable. Does that make sense to you?

I've never liked the sound of bagpipes. For me, the sound of bagpipes sounds like a rather large bag of cats being tortured.

Maybe you have to have grown up singing along with Andy Stewart on "A Scottish Soldier" or "Donald, where's your troosers?"

Maybe you have to have grown up singing along with Andy Stewart on "A Scottish Soldier" or "Donald, where's your troosers?" Perhaps. I grew up listening to Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and many others. Later on, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks, The Who, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Led Zeppelin. What today is considered 'Classic Rock'. It all depends on a persons point of reference.
