Ohhhhhhh-kay. Is she your daughter, then? Or one of your students? Just curious..... Well, I didn't have any kids when I was about 16, so no, she's not my daughter. She was my student. She's back in Mexico city now, so not too far away from you in sunny Florida... OK. From the picture I was guessing girlfriend/significant other/wife. My bad. ;D

I've found it's better to try and bring up something interesting and novel rather than just give plaudits. Depending on who it is, of course. Most of these celebrities are told how amazing they are 100 times a day, so I've noticed that some of them just grow numb to it.
The last time I met Elvis Costello (my third time), I asked him if he'd heard "SMiLE" yet.

I have the issue of Vanity Fair that list was originally published in.

I have loved the Beatles and Paul since 1962 when I first saw them singing Love Me Do on Tuesday Rendezvous but if I met Paul again I would say one thing, "With all the money you have why are you making your fans pay two or three times for every album by releasing several different versions of each one - I just realised you are a money-grabbing bastard who doesn't give a crap about us fans."

I'm sure that would go over well ;D

Maybe it's blunt but I am so sick of it. When CDs first came out and had bonus tracks on I thought, "At least maybe now we won't get so ripped off with all the 7", 12", CD and tape versions of singles with different tracks, but now Macca has started it all again - he must really need the money, maybe he's down to his last 10 billion? First I buy Electric Arguments, then I find out you can only get the bonus track by buying it again on iTunes, now another two versions of the album are coming out - when will it end. How much money does he think the average fan has? The Beatles never used to exploit people by releasing singles off albums (usually) but here he is making his own money-grabbing empire by fleecing the people who have supported him all this time.

I'm baffled at this. The man has hundreds of unreleased live, studio, sound check, demos and alternate takes in the can from 1969-2008 and we get this?

I remember getting frustrated with the Flowers In The Dirt singles - 7 inch, 12 inch, laser etched...
If the b-sides and bonus and extended mixes etc had of been great I wouldn't mind but paying a fortune only to get rubbishlike The First Stone is a rip off in my book.
With the exception of Yellow Submarine (LP) The Beatles were the best value band full stop. Look at the b-sides. Revolution, Yes It Is, Old Brown Shoe, Baby You're A Rich Man, Rain, She's A Woman, I'm Down, This Boy....
It really surprises me that Paul is taking this route.

Back to the original premise, my question would be this:
"Paul, you said some time ago that certain rights to your songs revert to you by the passage of time. Is that a factor in the delay of the reissue of the Beatle catalog?"
