Thanks Everyone. You make an Old Fred misty eyed. In the tradition of the John&Yoko Wedding Album, I'd like to share my Birthday Cake with everybody. If I may, I'd like to serenade you all with the song I performed in the 'Beauty and The Beast' musical I did this summer, where I played Belle's father, Maurice. (And don't ask me what the Pompatus of Love is, OK?). Thanks to everyone who've made this board a fun place to visit and share our love for The Beatles.

Thanks for keeping the flame alive, OldFred!! Happy Birthday buddy but can't you have a Monkee-related Board name? That does give me room for thought. What about Mr. Schneider, the Fifth Monkee?

That is a good one, Fred! Very subtle for Monkees' newbies like me! Do people grab that name up on Monkees' Boards? That is funny, Fred. ;D I like your name as is as it is a great one for a Beatles' Board and it fits your real first name but Mr. Schneider should be your next choice if for some reason you got frozen out on your OF account like has happened to some posters who had to change their names.

Thanks Johnny. Actually, I think some posters on the Monkees boards have used the name. And just to give some insight into the origin of my screen name, it's an obvious reference to the character in 'Yellow Submarine', and the name was actually given to me by a long-time fellow Beatles fan and friend. And yes, it does incorporate my real name with a Beatles reference. ;D

Is it me, or does he look like Stan Freberg? So was he named after Bert Schneider, the producer of the show?

Yes, he was named after Bert Schneider, the producer and co-creator of the Monkees. And yes, he does resemble Stan Freberg, of whom the Monkees were huge fans, and Freberg did one episode with them.

And here I thought I was forgotten and swept away into the dust heap of old, used-up Beatles fans. Thanks everyone, it's better to be belated than not at all! Here's my Birthday cake for this year. Everyone can have a conceptual, slice. All the best!

Happy Birthday Fred! Happy Birthday to JSD ! Happy Birthday to Mike also! Happy Birthday to EVERYONE who has a birthday now, or in the future -- or who I've missed in the past. (This is why I'm not exactly a big fan of the "Happy Birthday" threads. You're bound to miss someone, and it's really just a "stand up and be counted" thing anyhow). Best Wishes. ;D

Well, when Paul does "Hey Jude" live, he was referring to me, and only me, when he pointed in my general direction and said, "And you were great!" I hear what JoeK is saying and as pointed out to me in a lighthearted way, a few of us have become the "Birthday Thread Persons" as we start them for the regulars here. But is is nice to get a birthday greeting and it is all for fun. And every year we fall for JoeK's fake birthday date he has listed but just the same we wish him a good one whenever it is! ;D
