Listen at iTunes or www.podarama.com/fab_fourumWithout having heard the podcast yet; during the period that Pete and Stuart were in the band (1960-62), there were five Beatles period. So if you prefer to name the drummer last, then Pete is the 5th Beatle. Brian was their manager and never a performer so I don't see how he could ever get the title. George Martin did play with the band in several early tracks on recording, so he could be considered a 5th Beatle. But then so could Alan White, Jimmy Nichol, Billy Preston, and Eric Clapton. What irked me was Paul's comment in an interview on the "Making of LOVE" DVD where he says there are only four people in the universe who can call themselves a Beatle. That is just simply not true, nor accurate. Now I'll see what the Forum has to say on the subject!
