What a strange annoucement regarding the new Ringo album, Ringo 2012 , coming out at the end of January. According to Steve's update in the Examiner, the album will have ONLY 9 tracks, which seems very unusual in this day and age (although, maybe for Ringo, less will certainly seem like more ). What I really thought was odd was that two of the planned tracks are covers of two, somewhat obscure, Ringo songs: "Step Lightly" (from the "Ringo" album) and...... "Wings" (from "Ringo the 4th")?!?!?!?! What in the World, indeed!?!?!?!?

Yes, I would say those are obscure Ringo songs. I remember trying to get into "Wings" thinking it might be about Paul's band but I never heard anything I could grab on to.
I say this every chance I get, Ringo's album are a lot better than you would think an album by the drummer would be.

Those two covers are strange choices thus leaving seven new songs.
Man, I don't know about this.

Maybe only six new songs, since one other track, Think It Over, was Ringo's contribution to a recent Buddy Holly tribute set.

Yeah, nine tracks is the official listing. But "Y Not" was a damn good album. Hopefully, this one will be there, too.

If it's as good as Y Not I'll be happy.
