4 -- Fantastic song from George during that "comeback period" of the late '80s where he had a lot of good new material and should have toured more extensively than just a tiny blip in Japan. Love the guitar on this.

A strong 3. This song was a nice surprise. I remember hearing it on the radio and realizing it was George (and that it was very good). I'd had no idea that he was going to be having a new song so that added to the enjoyment!

Here are the lyrics....
I can see by your grin That you're trembling within It's all over town, cheer down And the smile on your face Is sometimes out of place Don't mind, no frowns, cheer down.
If your hair should fall If your shares should crash You'll get by even without getting a rash
There's no tears to be shed I'm gonna love you instead I want you around, cheer down.
When your teeth drop out You'll get by even without taking a bite
If your dog should be dead I'm gonna love you instead The world loves a clown, cheer down. I want you around, cheer down

George was the prime Beatle in this period. Paul had to can Return to Pepperland because it wasn't up to par so he called Elvis Costello, I guess after George's Cloud 9 he had to come out with something strong.
4.0

One of my top five favorite songs by George. The guitar solo literally makes my eyes water. I give this one a 10. (Yeah, I know it only goes up to four...)

A 3.5 from me and I like it a lot. I'd give it a 4 but I took a .5 off for being associated with the movie it was. ;D

I like this. If I'm not mistaken, I heard it at the end of Lethal Weapon II and didn't have any idea it was on it. You didn't know everything ahead of time like you do now.
This was one of the reasons to buy The Dark Horse Years, or whatever it was called.
A good solid song at 3.0, 3.5 for the poll. No wait, that's wrong. I need another reason.

3. Pretty darn good song. That distinctive George guitar and the Beatles were always so innovative with their use of minor chords. It even sounds a little like George is doing Tom Petty vocally.

It was good to see a Beatle doing a song for a film that was both good and successful. Paul did Spies Like Us which was a flop even though I liked it and Young Boy for a movie with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams which I don't even remember the title.

3. Yeah, it's pretty good, but not really a personal favourite.

Great lyrics, great guitar play, just a great song. Should have been on the singles charts!! Never understood why, as this was a high profile, comeback period for George. Movie was kinda lame, though.
