I just got this cd. A friend had it back when it was new. I never did get the album until now. Be careful, the words are dirty as hell. It's three parts. Walzing Matilda, Street Hassle and Slip Away. You have to make it to Slip Away, 3:42.

I guess there's no Lou Reed fans here.
I thought I'd get at least one "Damn, that's Bruce Springsteen at the end of Street Hassle".

As I mentioned in one of the stories I wrote Sunday, back in the '70s, one of the albums the guys I hung out with used to blast was "Rock 'n' Roll Animal." "Sweet Jane" was a killer. I was not a huge fan of Reed's, but that album is one of the best live albums ever (yes, even better than "Paul Is Live" ... sarcasm).

I became aware of Lou Reed because as a Kiss fan he helped co-write some of the songs on Kiss's 1981 concept album The Elder which all but buried Kiss and the makeup era in the US.
RIP Lou. Thank you especially for your Kiss contributions.
One of the best Kiss songs.

No this is a huge loss to music. I had the honor of seeing Lou Reed up close at the Bluebird nightclub in Bloomington, Indiana on Thursday, September 17, 1987, which was two days before Farm Aid III. John Cougar Mellencamp's then drummer Kenny Aronoff's wife was an Associate Instructor at the I.U. Law School and she told us students to go to the Bluebird that night but wouldn't tell us why. I got there early and got the table next to the stage. John Cougar Mellencamp and full band came out and did three songs, "Pink Houses," "Small Town," and the then hit single "Paper And Fire." That was awesome, Mellencamp was at his highwater mark and was warming up for Farm Aid. But then Lou Reed came out and I think backed by Mellencamp's band(that I don't recall) did seven songs including "Walk On The Wild Side," "Heroin," and "Sweet Jane." I knew who Lou Reed was and it was an amazing set. John Prine closed things out with a set in a fabulous triple play all for a $5.00 cover charge. Lou Reed the next day was a guest in Professor Glenn Gass's "History of Rock And Roll," a fully acrredited course in the I.U. School of Music. In the Spring of 1985 I had had Professor Gass in his first accredited course on "The History Of The Beatles."
