Thank you Sally, I feel better now! The "Love My Baby" is okay but I won't miss it from the deluxe box. But I want to crank over my old-fashioned stereo system these alt versions of "Letting Go" and "Rock Show" and you have given me fresh hope! I am with JoeK, downloading music just doesn't do it for me. Hey, I ain't a complete Neanderthal as I have an iTunes account and some of the very early albums by my beloved new faves, The Avett Brothers, are available only by download so I adapt but it don't bring me joy!

I think only Letting Go and Rockshow downloads are on Venus and Mars too. Love My Baby is on neither reissue. I don't think any of these downloads are on Venus and Mars. Venus and Mars has a bonus track called Rock Show [Old Version]. The download is Rock Show [New Version]. The download is Letting Go [Extended Version]. On the Deluxe it's Letting Go [Single Version]. I already had the Letting Go version I got off the internet somewhere but this sounds a hell of a lot better than my copy.

A re-issued WWL would turn heads alright,........................ away from the noise Unlike EXTRA TEXTURE and DARK HORSE.. right? Definitely unlike those 2 fine GH albums....

The follow site has the results of a Beatlefan/Steve Hoffman Forum survey that ranks all the Beatles/solo Beatles albums. It has Extra Texture at 61, Dark Horse at 54, and Wild Life at 50. fans-rank-beatles-group-and-solo-albums

That's interesting, never seen that. (Struggling to see how 'Thrillington' beats 'Some Time in New York City'.) 'Beaucoups of Blues' (number 64) didn't do as well as it should have. I was glad to see 'Electric Arguments' do fairly well. 'Back to the Egg' scores higher than it should. I can't believe 'Flaming Pie' is as good as voters think...maybe I should listen to that again. I don't think they should include the Traveling Wilburys on such a list. George's 'Brainwashed' is a really good album. Fans seem to agree, and it does rather well here (number 28, which is his 2nd-highest rated). The sad thing is that publication of this list will increase Paul's love for 'Band On The Run'.

Thanks Joe for sticking up for Wings Wild Life! I think we are just the deluxe re-issue away from WWL become a monster hit, kind of like Brian Wilson scoring a huge hit with Smile in 2005, decades after he first tried to release it to the scorn of Mike Love and BB purists.

I'll be watching this release with interest , so will Paul, he'll be hoping that, at a minimum, WWL sells enough copies to recover costs.

I agree with Panther that Traveling Wilbury's do not really belong on it. Same goes for the various "experimental" and classical albums etc. from George, John and Paul. The list should have been limited to more or less conventional studio albums. I would include Electric Arguments, even though it is something of a hybrid, covers sets, Broadstreet....

You're right, none of the downloads are on the deluxe reissues. The free download for Rock Show [New Version] is 6:31 and the bonus Rock Show track on V&N is 7:09. The download Letting Go [Extended Version] is 5:39 while the bonus Letting Go on V&M is 3:36. My apologies to everyone. With so many different versions of these songs out, it can really be confusing sometimes and you really have to pay attention to detail. I just noticed that Wings at the Speed of Sound deluxe version is no longer on Spotify. Maybe they'll have deluxe versions for a little while then pull them off to get people to to out and buy the physical copy which I plan to do later.

I will bet you a crisp new five pound note (or ten dollar bill, your choice) that this never happens.

Did anybody who got the sets bother with the high resolution downloads? I not sure what to do with them. They don't sound any different on my PC with earbuds.
FYI, you have to take them out of their folders, i.e. "Venus and Mars Tracks 1-7", "Venus and Mars Tracks 8-7", to get them to show up anywhere.

Great news about the U.K. chart success! Just wait until WWL gets released!
BTW, fans at Beatles Photo Blog are going nuts over the blatant errors in the V&M book. One of the worse is where Mike McCartney is called Paul's older brother! I guess there are other mistakes that have fans howling!
Mine haven't come yet.

I want to go postal on all Led Zeppelin supporters!

Consider this: 1) Led Zeppelin would be like The Beatles as the classic band unit (while McCartney Solo is more comparable to Robert Plant Solo). 2) The Zeppelin albums have needed this re-mastering for a long time now, so of course fans are buying.

Still waiting on the mail for my Zep IV. I ordered it Sunday. I have I, II, III. I'm lovin' the bonus tracks. I'm still waiting for Houses of the Holy to come down in price like the first three did.
Apple could learn a little from these releases.

It was a bitch until I hit a huge growth spurt in 1976 then I sought revenge and was kicking Zep and Sabbath fans asses, "Here f-ck-r, listen to 'Silly Love Songs' blasting over the bus radio and like it!," as I made them eat school bus floor! Paul has more talent in his pinkie than those Lord of the Rings wannabes, blues frauds Zeppelin have in their entire bodies!

My best friend in high school did not like them. He was into Neil Diamond. I started liking Zeppelin with their last two albums after they gave up their bluesier sound. I loved solo Plant. I'm just now appreciating their older stuff.

If anything I would have FLAMING PIE even higher. It has a large number of outstanding songs. Yes you should listen to it again. BAND ON THE RUN is deservedly high on the list. It is a great album. MCCARTNEY, WALLS & BRIDGES, BRAINWASHED and NEW are ONES I would not have as high. MILK AND HONEY. LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD, PIPES OF PEACE and LONDON TOWN I would all put higher.

My deluxe V&M and SOS came Friday and I still haven't opened the shipping box! Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans! I have not opened the deluxe Ram I bought maybe a year ago. I am not keeping these unopened for some future re-sale value but I just find I don't have time to dig into them like I'd like. Man, I got lost in the deluxe WOA Box and getting lost in that thing is like getting lost in Mammoth Cave! I also have some fear that if I get into these two albums like I did as a kid, I could soften on The JSD Postulate now that it has finally gained traction in our Beatles' world and there goes a life's worth of work down the drain!

. . . "My Love" is a fine song, and could very easily have been a Beatles song (except that George couldn't have mastered as wonderful a guitar solo here ) . I don't know if he would have come up with anything as nice, but he could certainly play it. It's in his wheelhouse - slow and melodic. It's in the same vain as the lead in Something.
