I was reading up on The Beatles 1976 compilation album Rock -N- Roll Music and it is said John Lennon wrote a nasty letter to the President of Capitol Records saying the cover art to said album, “looks like a Monkees reject.” www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/News/en-us/beatles-0915.aspxThat was a not so glorious Monkees reference by one our Fabs.

I think you can look at the Monkees as a live-action version of Beatle Cartoons and still think, that aside, they were a pretty good band.

Just kidding. But yeah, they leave us with some great music no matter what the source. I really enjoyed seeing Micky, Peter and Michael live in 2012.

at least put Michael Nesmith in the RNR hall of fame if not the Monkees... He was really a pioneer in Country Rock (years before the Eagles) and was one of the pioneers in "Music Video" production.. Agree with you there, Nesmith definitely deserves a nomination for his extensive and varied solo work. Yeah, but can you imagine what a commotion that would cause?
