Sigh, once again no Partridge Family(featuring Shirley Jones and David Cassidy)!
Tupac is in for sure as is Janet Jackson. Pearl Jam and Yes are in(the Cars must wait). Yes is in so the RRHF will get some Progressive Rock tourists paying admission! MC5 maybe and maybe Chic or Chaka Khan. Sorry Joan, the times they have done changed.
Yep, I could give a rat's-ass about these nominations.

Okay, the winners have been announced:
Yes Tupac Shakur Journey ELO Pearl Jam Joan Baez
Musical Excellence - Nile Rogers
Although I wouldn't have inducted Journey, I'm good.

ELO - I love early ELO up to A New World Record. After that they seemed to get more and more cartoonish. Yes - Owner of a Broken Heart blew me away. It's what made me like the earlier stuff. Pearl Jam - I'm surprised they are not higher in my list. Unfortunately they kind of petered out. Journey - Journey were monsters at their height. They're a little syrupy in retrospect. And yet, they still hold up better than a band like the Clash to me. Joan Baez - I thought she was folk(?). Tupac Shakur -

The Moody Blues continue to be the biggest omission in the R&R HOF. They had hits and popular albums. They were groundbreaking with the DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED album and were a big influence on Prog Rock, but still managed to keep a foot in the rock and pop fields.
Glad to see the Zombies get nominated. If other people with short careers like the Sex Pistols and the Stooges are in, then surely the Zombies should be in there. I think the ODYSSEY AND ORACLE album is one of the all-time greats. I prefer it to PET SOUNDS, which is in the same mold.

The Moody Blues continue to be the biggest omission in the R&R HOF........ Perhaps, I think The Partridge Family(featuring David Cassidy) is right up there! David Cassidy was on fire for at least four or five years(1970-1974).
