It is 15 years ago today that we lost George in what his wife Olivia described as a moment of divine intervention as he passed away. His music and never-ending search for why he was on this earth made him the most soul-searching of The Beatles. Still missed but grateful for what he left us.

All Things Must Pass. R.I.P George.
Gone but never to be forgotten.

As fans, I believe that we miss George more than ever! John too.
I am watching "Eight Days A Week" on PBS right now and Paul and Ringo's contemporary interviews are nice and important but it amplifies how much we miss George and John because just as it took four Beatles to make the music(for the most part), it really takes four Beatles to fully tell the story.
Miss you George!

Another year gone by, although we didn’t learn about it until November 30.

Another year gone by, although we didn’t learn about it until November 30. What a sad day that was! I woke up and as I always did turned on the TV to the Today show at 7:00 a.m. and I was momentarily puzzled to see George's moving images from the "All You Need Is Love" broadcast as I thought, "What's this on for?" and then suddenly it all hit me before I even turned the sound up that George was gone! That was a horribly sad day! I went to work but I was stuck inside a cloud.

A friend of mine had gotten word that the end was near. He stopped by to let me know what he knew.
He did a guest spot on one of the local public radio stations and borrowed my George CDs to play.
It's still terribly sad.

It was an overwhelming sadness that I felt when George died. With John there was the shock and anger too. With George it was just sadness.

I wish George had been able to release Brainwashed in his lifetime. I could have used sevral of thos songs on this day back in 2001 when I learned of his passing.
Steve first started this Board in the Fall of 2001 and I seem to remember that it was going when Driving Rain was released but not until after 9/11.
So we had a Thread on George's and God we followed it with increasing concern. Steve Marinucci still had his great AbbeyRd Beatles Page with the best news on the Beatles so we had great access to all articles that appeared on the internet concerning George.
When George passed, that Remembrance Thread started on this date was special, it was so profoundly sad and poignant. I would always go back and read it up until the time Steve had to close it to start Side 2. At least a hundred of different Posters posted in it.

Here is George's last recorded song, "Horse To The Water" recorded October 2, 2001 with George on vocal only and co-written with Dhani:
George sounds damn good for what he was going through!

Let's not forget Guitar George. He knew all the chords. LOL, I re-read MarkC's post the other day and that reference went right over my head! Ah, Dire Straits!
