Hmmm...interesting list in that it does capture a few tunes that I really thought I was the only living person liked (sorry, I'm a bit sheltered).
I'll offer a bit more fuel to the fodder.
Dream Scene—No argument there; I'll always have this on my Harrison playlist (Would also consider Wonderwall to be Here).
Nowhere to Go—I believe there is heightened awareness of this track as the lyrics are in the new expanded I Me Mine. I have always loved the track and wish to see it on Early Takes 2 if such a thing ever comes around.
Simply Shady—although the track is buried on an album I have ignored for too long, when I do pull up the CD, this track and Maya Love never get skipped. By the way, the remastering that was done did not impress me at all. I think the Dark Horse album merited a remix; the purists will always have the vinyl to go back to. Speaking of vinyl, did anyone buy the new box set? I am ambivalent as I heard it was remastered by the folks who remastered the Apple Years.
The Light That Has Lighted The World–I much prefer the Early Takes Version; hauntingly beautiful. The kind of song I like to put on when all is quiet and the world dims.
I am afraid I cannot agree on some of the B-sides, as much as I love Harrison. I don't care for I don't Care anymore and Miss O'Dell, while fun, is not among my top choices.
I tend to gravitate, oddly enough as 80's child, towards Harrison Dark Horse years and compiled my playlist Guava Jam (inspired by Olivia's preface) to tracks like:
1. Thats's the Way It Goes
2. Your Love is Forever
3. Life Itself
4. Someplace Else
5. Mystical One
6. Fish On the Sand
7. Poor Little Girl
8. Beautiful Girl
9. Never Get Over You
10. Cheer Down
Just to mention a few.
I really really really love Horse to The Water and believe it should have been added to Brainwashed (the album I often mistakenly call Any Road) to kick up some dust with the mid-tempo build-up in the middle of the album.
