THAT is one of the problems with the RRHF. Either because of bias, politics, ignorance, revenge, or whatever, the Moody Blues should have been inducted way back when they became eligible, NOT 20 some years AFTER they became eligible. They were a major player in rock solidifying itself into an album form of art. From 1967 to 1974, they were major concert draws - appearing in many festivals.
It's a terrible shame that once again, it's not until after an artist dies that they get to be honored (Joe Cocker). Sorry Ian Anderson and Ritche Havens. Hope you get in before it's too late.

From what I heard of his health-he would never have been able to make the trip. But the Hall is what it is-a joke-a popularity contest. The fan vote of the world counted as 1 vote.

Yeah, there had to be more to them not getting into the RRHF than just the merits of the music.
As I said above, I wasn't that big of a fan of them in their day. I liked Knights in White Satin but thought that most of their music was a little overblown, pompous and worst of all, boring.
But you can't deny their longevity. They held their high spot for a good five years, with hit after hit after hit. There was no way of ignoring their huge fan base. Then their comeback in the MTV era was amazing.
