This was good! Thanks Fred!
The album has the duet with Paul of Grow Old With Me.
I've ordered my copy!

Are we getting excited people for new Ringo?!
AR50 was okay, not as exciting to me as WA50, but bring on new Ringo Starr!

*Beautiful*....Thx OldFred..... I openly wept hearing Ringo doing "Grow Old With Me!" I have not had a "Beatle cry" that hard since Paul announced his intended divorce from Heather Mills!

*Beautiful*....Thx OldFred..... I openly wept hearing Ringo doing "Grow Old With Me!" I have not had a "Beatle cry" that hard since Paul announced his intended divorce from Heather Mills! Its properly recorded now JSD, with two (2) Beatles....Ringo sung it beautifully, Paul's classic bass (licks) + Joe Walsh on guitar..... I've continuously being playing it, plus wept like yourself...Thinking of John, my parents...etc

With just five days until Ringo's new album, What's My Name, is released, now is the time for silent reflection and meditation.
We, as Beatles' fans, must decide whether we support John, Paul, George and Ringo or we do not! I am dismayed that most here did not buy Ringo's last exciting Solo album, #19 Give More Love, and several did not even buy Paul's Egypt Station.
When we boarded this magical mystery tour on the long and winging road across the universe, we signed up to support the Boys, for better or for worse! Ringo pleasantly surprised those few of us who bought Give More Love but too many here did not even listen to that Ringo offering.
Please think long and hard this week about buying What's My Name and jump on amazon.com or better yet go to your neighborhood music store and buy it! It will bring joy to you, I can promise that just from the Ringo(with Paul) cover of John Lennon's "Grow Old With Me" and the exciting title track which elicited much positive thoughts at the front of this Thread.
It is time we walked away from long tomes on The Beatles and get back to the music itself! What good are tomes anyway if we are not listening to the music?
On October 25, 2019, when Ringo Starr yells, "What's my name?!", I want a loud and resounding reply, "RINGO!!"
We do that by buying Mr. Starkey's new album and being proud doing so!

What's My Name is a very enjoyable album I am finding! I am struck by how happy and content Ringo is! It is reassuring and comforting knowing that Ringo is in a good place this late in his life!
With that context, I find this a very satisfying album! What does the gang think?

I like the new album, lots of good songs on it. However, it wasn’t necessary to cover ‘Money’ again. It’s not too bad, just not necessary. Love ‘Grow Old With Me’, nice to have Paul on it.

If Ringo asks me, What's My Name, i'm going to tell him,
it's Richard Starkey.

I guess my copy got porch pirated. I never did receive it. It's been a week now since the delivery date. I've gotten an amazon delivery since that but still no Ringo.
I stopped by Target and was going to pick a copy up. I usually end up with two copies of any new Paul album so why not Ringo. They did not have it. Taylor Swift has four deluxe versions of her new album that Target had but no new Ringo.
Wonder what the porch pirate thinks of the album.

I knew you would love the album, Fred! Awesome! I think it is the most enjoyable, fun Ringo album in over 20 years! I love that there are just ten songs, the album doesn't overstay its welcome like [Cough] Egypt Station does! "Money" is controversial because it does not have that "Hamburg" smokey sound to it! Ringo's vocal is Auto-tuned more than Kanye West's normally is and the musical backing is not rough, tough Rock and Roll or R & B but a silky smooth blend. I kind of like it because I was expecting Ringo to do like he once did it with The Beatles in the Cavern but instead he took a different approach! I knew I could count on you Fred when other waffled on dear Ringo's new album!

Sometimes those "Like" votes are inadequate to express how we feel! I do not "Like" that you got stolen from Debjorgo because I know you are dying to hear this album like the rest of us were! I too could not find a copy in any local retail store the 25th or even thereafter but I did get release date delivery from amazon. I hope you get it soon from whatever source Debjorgo! I hope they catch and prosecute the porch pirate. The only silver lining is that the thief got a Ringo Starr CD! While such brings us joy, let's face it, many others would be like WTF?! LOL, the punk probably doesn't even have a CD Player anymore and doesn't listen to anything other than hardcore Hip Hop. He/She probably thought they were scoring prescription drugs!

Thanks Keith! Ringo comes out here and says he never heard "Grow Old With Me" prior to just recently when Jack Douglas gave him a copy of John's "Bermuda Tape."
Some serious Beatles' scholars could not believe that previously implied only claim but Ringo comes out here and says he was not aware of the song or even the George Martin orchestration of it years later after M&H!
