This will go on the site tonight but I thought I'd give you guys a look at this now: Recently surfaced in trading circles: "Yellow Submarine Adventure," a roughly 20-min. DVD from Yellow Cow with the animation footage used for the Yellow Submarine amusement ride in 2000 that was available briefly in Berlin and Tokyo. It's almost a sequel to the original movie, though the action in the film is derived from the original story. The film, which takes place in three different seas (as in Sea of Monsters, Sea of Sciences, Sea of Time), is narrated by Jeremy Boob, with an assist by Captain Fred (with none of the original voices, from what we're told). Much of the footage at the beginning and end of the three segments is the same, with only the middle section (in the actual sea) is different. Yellow Cow says none of the footage has not been seen outside of the ride before. Video and audio quality are excellent, with the music in stereo, much taken from the original records. As in "Love," some elements have been extracted from the records (mostly audio effects), though this doesn't take place nearly as much as it does in "Love." The animation, which appears to be CGI created, in some spots is quite outstanding. More details on the ride itself can be found at www.fab4art.com/ysa.htm .
