I posted about this on the old board, but I'll get this onto the new board. While listening to the McCartney Years DVD, I was astounded by how much I enjoyed so many of Paul's "lesser hits"/album tracks/B-sides. Here are some of my favorites (from this DVD) that were not big US hits: 1. "This One": A very emotional vocal delivery with a great melody. 2. "Hope Of Deliverance": A really nice guitar and an upbeat optimistic message. 3. "Mull Of Kintyre": I know this was one of the biggest hits ever in England, but I have still to this day never heard it on the radio. I love this song. The bagpipes really stir the Scottish blood in me. 4. "C Moon": All of the instruments are very catchy, especially the xylophone and horn, both played by Denny Seiwall. 5. "Tug Of War": I feel these are some of Paul's best lyrics and it has aa nice semi-classical/acoustic feel. 6. "Pipes Of Peace": This song has a really great opening and finish. (and it is pretty pleasing in the middle as well). 7. "Baby's Request": This should be considered as fine of a "standard" as Paul's others, such as "When I'm 64" and "Michelle". 8. "Heart Of The Country": A nice acoustic number aptly capturing the "back to nature" feel of the times. 9. "Beautiful Night": I like the first part of the song, but I absolutely love the finish. When Ringo starts to sing I always feel a rush of excitement! 10. "Mamunia": A nice acoustic opening and some cool synthesizer work. The Band On The Run album had several excellent tracks beyond the singles.

7. "Baby's Request": This should be considered as fine of a "standard" as Paul's others, such as "When I'm 64" and "Michelle". It's a real favorite of mine, too, and made a great double A side single with "Getting Closer" in 1979. "Baby's Request""Getting Closer"
