I just found out yesterday morning that my brother-in-law got tickets to see Paul at Fenway on Wednesday. He's taking his 18-year-old daughter, who claims she's never heard of Paul Mc Cartney! My wife told him that she ( the daughter) is in for a treat! (FWIW, my two sons were flabbergasted that their cousin had never heard of Paul McCartney and asked me how that could be possible! I gently explained that she wasn't raised in the same household as they were. ) I mailed my brother-in-law a check so that he could buy me a T-shirt and program. (Next best thing to being there... ) If he sends me a report I'll try to forward it to all of you!

That is neat. Maybe your brother-in-law should ditch the daughter who doesn't even know who Paul is(and thus may be dreading this) and take the good Dr. himself! As a rabid fan, and a working adult, you would appreciate it more, Winnie, and your bro-in-law could get one ticket paid for!
I would love to see Paul in a historic venue. You could look around and almost imagine that it is 1965 or 1966 again.
In 1993 I saw Macca in old County Stadium in Milwaukee but that venue was rather charmless for an old stadium. I did sit in center field, near the warning track, to the right of the stage. I can thus say I once roamed the outfield of a MLB stadium!

I'm hoping the concert will make a "convert" of the daughter.

Nice idea; unfortunately, I'm in Florida and he's in Massachusetts. Where there is a will there is a way! I would keep on top of this as your niece might be throwing a fit about going with her dad to see some old geezer! ;D You may get asked yet! Maybe, The down side is she will start asking to borrow Uncle O'Boogie's Beatles'collection and you'll never get it back! My dead-beat brother-in-law on my wife's side asked me over Father's Day if he could borrow my Beatles' collection to burn. He and his wife are losing their home to foreclosure not because of unfair borrowing tactics but because of their own laziness and stupidity in what they do with their money and this guy uses his own c.d.'s as coasters anyway! Yeah, I am going to entrust to him my most valued possesions. I just looked at him and laughed. I want more people to discover The Beatles too but not at the expense of my collection!

Well, my brother-in-law was wowed! He said it was the best concert he's ever been to! (FWIW, he's not a huge Beatles fan- Johnny Cash is more his taste.) He couldn't believe Paul is 67, nor that Paul played 2-1/2 hours without a break! He ended up taking his other daughter (who is a big Beatles fan, BTW). He did send me a T-shirt and program. A good time was had by all.
