Just got back from seeing Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp, and Willie Nelson at Lake Elsinore's minor league baseball stadium. We all know that Bob's concerts are always hit and miss. This one was a hit. His band rocked, he played lots of hits, and the arrangements were different enough from the originals to be interesting, BUT faithful enough to actually know what song he was doing. Although he didn't talk to the audience, except to introduce the members of the band at the end of the set, he did actually move a little, which for him is a lot. I'll be seeing him in a couple of months at the Hollywood Palladium. It will be interesting to see what I get then.

Excellent! I just missed him as he and that gang played the beautiful minor league baseball park in South Bend, Indiana but that was as my wife and I were on a long-scheduled vacation. I read that a show was recently cancelled in Phoenix, AZ because of the predicted heat! What you write about Bob's concerts is true, sayne, but that won't stop me either from catching him when I can. Even on his off or kind of lousy nights, ticket prices aren't outrageous and I will always draw something from the show even if it was just a good buzz from a "granola ball" someone in my party bought(and shared) from a hippy girl several years ago when Dylan toured with Phil Lesh! ;D Actually Bob was good at that show but I was bummed because he was the opening act and was rather short. He came out with Lesh on Lesh's part for a couple songs and that was okay.
