As I noted in my thread on seeing Bob Dylan this week, he tweaked his songs enough to be different and interesting, but not so much that you did not know what he was singing. This made me think about the discussion we've had about Paul. There are some of us who are a bit tired of the note for note renditions and there are those who are at the other end who don't want him to change a thing. I'm in the rearranging school.
While seeing Bob, I thought of this prompt for those people here who prefer faithful versions of the songs:
Think of the best cover of a Beatle or Paul song that YOU have ever heard. It could be Joe Cocker doing "With a Little Help from My Friends" or Aerosmith's "Come Together" or Ritchie Havens' "Let iIt Be" and on and on and on. Now, pretend that version never came out, but Paul performed it that way in concert. What would you think? What do you honestly think your reaction would be?

'er you go... ;D
all kidding aside, Paul is not spontaneous enough to mix it up. Unfortunate-because he has the musical talent to pull it off.
