Thanks for the Info Steve. I ordered it a while back as I plan to get both sets. I hope they stick to their guns when they say one Pressing Run. We've all heard that one before!!

Folks, it is a race to get the Mono Boxset. Go to Steve's linked Examiner column and also see what our friend fabdba wrote in her Thread called "Off To The Fest We Go:" "Bruce Spizer: His advice is to get the mono box set ordered ASAP. He says the mono release is limited to ONE production run; I don't know how many that would be but he seems to think if we intend to order, do it now without delay."Using the link Steve gave in his Examiner article, I purchased my own copy from Best Buy for $229.99 plus .07% Indiana sales tax for a total of $246.09. Paul McCartney told Michael Jackson to invest in things he knew and believed in: in Paul and MJ's cases, music publishing. I need to earn on my savings. I'm not with the current interest rates. $5,000.00 would get me 20 Mono Boxes at the above stated cost. If I can flip these for $500.00 a set(plus add my shipping costs to buyers), I double my money. I believe in The Beatles. Beatles' fans seem to have more disposable income than any other collective group of pop fans. Steve or Beatle Bob, do you think one production run of the mono will be it? There won't be a "Super Duper" Mono Boxset down the road will there? I don't think I should tell my wife but she won't care, I guess, if I double that sum of money by 09/09/09.

You all don't think this is hype to get everyone over-excited? Regards, Beatle Bob

I am not soliciting the sale of such on this Board as that is a no-no of the rules here. I was just thinking aloud on how to double some money when conventional savings plans are lame and the markets too risky. But if you're interested, p.m. me!

You all don't think this is hype to get everyone over-excited? Regards, Beatle Bob Oh, I certainly do. But limited marketing, which has been done for electronics especially video game platforms, does what it's intended to do. I think it stinks, frankly, to do this to Beatle fans. I can't say if it'll be one run, but Capitol isn't helping by refusing to say exactly how many there will be. They're pulling this stuff on purpose. As I said today, if you're planning to get it or thinking about it, get it. If you weren't, you weren't losing anything. And frankly, after it's over, we probably won't much care.

There is also a rumour the entire catalogue has already been remixed but EMI/Capitol is only issuing remastered stereo/mono sets on Sept. 9. If that is the case, and they intend to hold off on releasing remixes until some later date, then as they say, the shXX will really hit the fan, and there will be a HUGE negative reaction by the public.

I think the truth is that they may have done some extensive remixing but decided to stay with the Martin mixes. A year ago, I felt differently, but I'm very glad they did. A lot can be done with technology today. I hope when the first real reviews come out it'll show all the worry was for nothing.

I find it hard to believe they would limit the run to 10,000 units = 2.3 million dollars or so. The advertising must have cost that much. I think the production run is as limited as EMI wants it to be. Stay calm and everybody will get a copy. PS we all already have the mono mixes (except the White Album and Sgt. Pepper) sitting on our shelves already.
