Wonder if a lot of people will be getting their stuff before 9/9/09.

I am having these sent to my office least I cause my wife to go into cardiac arrest by her sheer anger at me. I requested free shipping when I ordered my stereo box from Amazon back in July, and they indicated it would not be shipped until Sept. 14, though why it takes 5 days to ship my order from the release date is beyond me. I am not about to pay for shipping after shelling out $179! How are some people getting Amazon to ship them prior to Sept. 9 or on Sept. 9? By paying extra for shipping?

I am getting a little nervous as Amazon.com shows my order and gives me an order number but the stereo box has not been shipped out yet. I am still told to expect a September 9th delivery.
Does anyone have a toll-free number for Amazon? I have looked all over their page and can't find one. I have searched the "Help" link.
My mono box has been shipped by Best Buy.com but my mailman did not have it Saturday as the same mailman delivers to my office as well as home. Both boxes are coming to my office to avoid my wife and while we are closed Saturdays, I intercepted Rock and Roll Mailman Mike, a fellow Beatles' fan, who is keeping an eye out for these on my behalf.
Mike is the guy who drew a great image of Paul in the 1970's, sent a copy to Paul and got a nasty letter signed by Lee Eastman telling Mike he would be sued if he tried to sell his drawings of Paul! I've seen the letter, it is a priceless collectible!
It is funny that I am getting so worked up but these remasters are greatly anticipated and are expensive so I want them to safely and timely arrive.

My Mono Box arrived and is in my hands! It is a very handsome box although smaller than I thought. It's sides are 6 inches and it is 2 5/8 inches deep. The box front is white with black lettering and says; " The Beatles In Mono with the last two words dropped down to the right. There is the image of the apple we know and love. Actually, I'm very relieved that the box is so small as I can easily hide it from my wife! It will fit nicely in many shelves and drawers. The back has very concise and informative text telling what is in the box. Yes, all monos have been remastered, even the first four. Yes, Help! and Rubber Soul include on the same disc each the 1965 stereo mix as opposed to the 1987 George Martin stereo mixes and a, "double -CD collection of all The Beatles non-album and EP tracks digitally remastered in mono including four mixes unique to this package." I hate to even open it as it looks so nice all wrapped. I know, there is medication for this condition of mine.

Just got the e-mail from Amazon that my Stereo box shipped today, and that I should have it by Friday. Looking forward to it. ;D Congrats, OldFred! I got an e-mail that amazon is now on back order so I don't know when mine will come. Amazon did upgrade my shipping to "Next Day" at no extra charge so when they get a copy I'll get it quickly. I ordered mine on August 24, 2009 when I finally realized how huge this thing of 09/09/09 was getting. When Steve started reporting shortages of the mono box, I started getting worried on the stereo box too and finally acted.

I walked into my local Best Buy at lunch today hoping they were selling the remasters early and they were! I picked up the MONO BOX, plus Abbey Road, Let It Be and Past Masters. . .I'll be skipping lunch and renting fewer DVDs for a while, but it's worth it! I'll post some reviews later this week after I have time to digest them. My mono box is still in the shrink wrap and I listened to the first side of Abbey Road in the car on my way back to work. It sounds so detailed. Really incredible!

You're all wankers and are not worthy of receiving such a musical gift so swiftly (Before they're even officially released)! However, I do have the satisfaction of knowing that your copies will be worn out and aged by the time I recieve mine...

My Mono Box arrived and is in my hands! ...and there was much rejoicing! Enjoy.....and don't forget to give us a full report! And then my Stereo Box arrived at 10:45 a.m today with amazon.com dropping all shipping charges as a nervous JSD e-mailed them Monday wondering if my stereo box was coming by literally the Pony Express or maybe placed on top of a glacier pointed south! I thought that amazon was just upgrading me to one day delivery without charge but it dropped all shipping charges. Thanks corporate giant, this peon appreciates it! I thus paid a total of $178.49 for the stereo box. I must buy a 12-pack of beer with the savings on shipping and get drunk listening to these as well as finish the Mono Box. If only I can get the Mrs. to stay at her parents for a few days without that coming at the expense of divorce papers being filed....... ;D

JSD you have all the luck(well maybe not with the Mrs). I still await the Mono Boxset but am off to score some of the Stereo Cds. If I had the cash I would spring for the Stereo Box Set but oh well..I also see Joe decided to get the Mono Set after posts trying to deny he wanted it..lol. Just get it all..It's The Beatles..the reason we all post here there and everywhere..about the Fabs(just had to get one in). Again Happy Listening and don't get too Drunk! P.S Maybe you can ride the Harley too....

P.S Maybe you can ride the Harley too.... LOL! Yeah, I'd kill myself on the Harley. I am not buying The Beatles Rock Band so my Beatles' spending ends with the two boxes, well mostly. You raise a good point R66 in that in no way are the discussions here meant to be boasting by the posters who either bought these things or by the posters who didn't buy these things for whatever reason as we are all painfully aware that they are expensive and these are tough economic times we live in. This is a Beatles Board and everyone is pumped up: if you are a Beatles' fan you're talking about the remasters right now and not why Pete Best got fired or who was the prettiest Beatles' wife. I, like the rest of us, knew these were coming but just didn't know when. I cut back on entertainment spending significantly this past year primarily to defend these subsequent large item purchases to my wife. Of course that didn't work but I had something to argue with. This Board is mostly caring and sharing so I trust everyone can get their hands on these recordings in some kind of format one way or another(if they care to) through trading. Some of our friends here got these before they were even commercially released from the internet! Now all I got to do is sneak the stereo box home.
