I found this cool YouTube link someone had posted of all three original seasons openings of the Beatles Cartoons. The 1966 one I haven't seen since it's original broadcasts and it brought back memories.

That was kind of neat even though I am lukewarm on these cartoons. They are among the few things I remember and knew contemporaneously about The Beatles pre-1968, 1968 being the year I started school and was conscious of and enjoyed "Hey Jude."
Fred, why haven't you seen the Season 3 opening since original broadcasts? Did only seasons 1 and 2 make it to syndication?
I remember as a junior high kid that Chicago Channel 32(a local, non-network channel) showed the Beatles' cartoons but they were of pretty poor audio and visual quality. This was right as I became a fan and my memory is that we only ever heard the early stuff. I don't ever recall hearing the Revolver-era songs. It seems like every other day was "Little Child!" ;D
I like the Season 3 opener as it shows real pictures of the four and has much more real cartoon images of The Beatles in spots like their classic 1965 touring look with John wearing his hat. It also has SFF/PL era looking photos of the guys with their mustaches and all.
Furthermore, it identifies the members individually by name proving that in 1966/1967 the lads were being seen more and more as individuals rather than just the monolithic The Beatles.
So is season 3 super rare, I guess my question is?

Thanks for the post, Fred! I wonder if the fire escape sequence was a nod to the {first}"Can't Buy Me Love" sequence in "AHDN"? No.....that would be too.....easy....... {10 bonus points whoever can pinpoint the above - non-Beatles! - reference...}

John, It's the 'Help!' opener that's the ultra-rare one. That's the one I haven't seen since the original broadcasts, so seeing it again after so many years was a blast from the past. The first season opening is also very rare. The third season opening is the one most seen because that's the one MTV used when they were showing the Beatles Cartoons in the mid-80's. And I agree, of the three, the third season opening is the best one because it mixed photos of the real Beatles with their cartoon images.
