Let there be dancing in the streets, drinking in the saloons, and necking in the parlor! ;D

Are you referring to the box or the person? ;D
(Sorry, everyone, but I couldn't resist the obvious. I think starting threads like this is ridiculous.)

Who cares what McCrab thinks. The photo was meant purely just for fun, which the Beatles were, and I welcome anyone else who'd like to post photos of their recent acquisitions, be it the Remasters boxes (stereo, mono or both), the individual CD's or the Rockband game only if they want to. (And don't worry, John. We won't tell the wife about the mono box. ) All the new releases are a celebration of The Beatles and what do you do in a celebration but have fun! And what's wrong with that, I'd like to know?

The most recent (apart from this effort) was your Inner Beatle shots. You are VERY self-centered, like a child: and that can get tedious. I think you should wonder whether you are making yourself look like a dill (Oz expression - look it up if you can't figure what it means). If you can't figure the answer, pm me and I'll tell you. Thanks for the inspiration, Bob. Glad you're getting into the spirit of fun of the new Beatles releases. Life is very short and there's no time for fussing or fighting, my friend. By the by, if you go to this Best Buy link, you'll see pictures similar to the ones I posted yesterday from the different Beatles events throughout the country to celebrate the release of the Remasters and Beatles Rock Band. politeinpublic.com/bestbuy/

Well I don't know that they got into the spirit of it exactly, but you were chided for the greasy finger marks on the box! You're a funny dude, Freddie! ;D

You know, I have to admit that I'm more excited about the Lads being in the news again and being a "buzz" band with the remasters and Guitar Band coming out than the actual remasters themselves. Oh, I know the sound will probably be better and we will hear things more clearly and maybe even hear things that we have not heard before, but I've been listening to Beatle songs since 1964. For most of those years, it has been on tiny little 3 inch transistor radio speakers or lousy car speakers or cheap toy record players or crummy stereo speakers, etc. Despite the fact that the sound had never been great, I still loved the music and it sounded fine to me.
I admit that I really liked going to see the rerelease of Yellow Submarine and marveled at all the new things I was hearing, but I think that was more like a remix, rather than simply a remastering.
So, I asked in another thread what else was there to release, and someone said "remixes". I think THAT would get me more excited than these remasters. To me, the remasters would be like going from listening on cheap speakers to a great system. Great and cool, but that's it. Now, remixes, to me, would be like hearing "new" songs.
I remember way back when the Sistine Chapel was refurbished. When done, the colors were much more vibrant. Many people said, though, that it looked "cartoony." Maybe it's not a good comparison, but the Beatles remasters to me is a bit like cleaning up the Sistine Chapel or the Mona Lisa or putting arms back on the Venus de Milo. I'm okay with the old, although, appreciative of the effort to revitalize the sounds. But, I'm not going to be liking the Beatles songs more, nor will I be thinking that the songs are better.

You're a funny dude, Freddie! ;D It's obvious that Gary was playfully kidding. Did you read his follow-up, McCrab? We both played along with the gag and had a friendly banter and left it at that and moved on.
