Here's the first in a series of 9 segments of an interview Alan Williams did with George in 1974. Very interesting revisit. Take your time to hear all 9.

That was great, sayne! Thanks for posting that! You're welcome. Hearing interviews resonate much more than reading them. It was profound hearing George say that Paul ruined his guitar playing and epic to hear him say that he was ready to play with John again. It was humorous to hear George explain why he stopped playing the sitar in earnest. There are tons of other interesting references: Pete Townshend vs Clapton, Buddy Holly, the divine vs the real George, etc.

I have started the series(I thought that you were going to post one a day sayne! ;D ). I was at first disappointed that the interview wasn't filmed so we could actually see George speak, watch his face as he said these things but there are some mighty fine photographs. In Part 1 the interviewer goes on about playing with eyes closed and I kind of liked George's answer about remembering words and chords but the interviewer kept pressing him for something more spiritual! I love that this is from 1974, the most controversial period of George's solo career. This was a period when John was most at ease with the The Beatles legacy and pretty friendly with Paul. George seems the opposite and at odds with Paul and the whole Beatles thing. As Winnie said, thanks sayne as I look forward to tackling the other eight!
