I'm a homer, but does anyone else here concede that the Chargers' Phillip Rivers got dissed? Yeah, sucky team (that MIGHT still make the playoffs), but his stats are very competitive with other QBs

After a year like the Chargers had you can't expect a pat on the back, more likely a kick in the ass. That's just the way it is.

I can't remember...are these picks by the writers/sportscasters or fans - or a combination of both? The Stillers have 3 defensemen - none from offense, not even on the back-up team. Oh well. JCV

The Bears had one player on the All-Pro team...LB Lance Briggs. That's the only player on the roster deserving of the honor. Although they're still in the running, the 2008 Chicago Bears are NOT an NFL caliber playoff team.

However, could the argument be made that the Chargers would not even have had anywhere near 6 wins if Rivers did not have the year he is having? This has been a perpetual argument in all sports: individual accomplishments in relation to team success. Are they mutually exclusive? And the beat goes on. . .

In the final analysis the only thing that matters is team achievement. Individual achievemnt in a team sport like professinal football matters not, it all comes down to win vs. loss, the team is what's most important.

You guys didn't answer my question... And I think Hines Ward should have been a Pro Bowl pick. He is an all-around player all the time. JCV

I think it's writers/sportscasters. ;D From NFL.com: Fans, players and coaches vote to determine rosters. I finally had time to look it up. I didn't know fans could vote...missed that. JCV
