A newly discovered photo of George and Pattie, circa 1967? No it is Dhani Harrison and Russian born model Sasha Pivovarova! Steve M. reports in his News Brief about Dhani's photo shoot for Conde Nast group magazines and Teen Vogue's Fall '08 supplement. Steve gives the link to the photos which are very cool assuming one is not Stella McCartney(or the rest of the Macca clan). Here it is for ease in reference(thanks Steve!): community.livejournal.com/foto_decadent/1850771.htmlClearly they were going for the George and Pattie Swinging 60's look. The quote about love and heartbreak confirms it. I wonder what Mom thinks especially after Pattie broke the Harrison Golden Rule: Don't write a book about Hari and never kiss and tell! The quote might be a subtle dig at Pattie who claims to have felt bad about leaving George. Cool stuff. Now if only Dhani's new album would be released on c.d.

And as I mentioned in the writeup, what do you think Uncle Macca would think about all the animal fur? I don't think he'd be very happy.

Those are very cool pictures! I agree, they are going for the George & Patti look - isn't that style coming back now? Did you guys/gals save your outfits from that time zone? Paul probably doesn't like the fur, but who's to say it's real fur? JCV

$475 for a shirt and $1750 for a suit. It must be nice to travel in those circles.

And as I mentioned in the writeup, what do you think Uncle Macca would think about all the animal fur? I don't think he'd be very happy. It seemed very odd to me that he'd do that (even though they look stunning in the pictures I must say!). Not just because of Paul either, I'd have thought some of George's vegetarian ways would have rubbed off on him too. I feel quite weird about it, it just seems wrong, and that's from someone who is partial to the occasional bacon butty. Maybe it isn't real fur, though there's nothing to say that, but it feels like a betrayal seeing him like that. Very odd, and I must say I'm surprised at myself how strongly I feel about it as I'm not particularly an animal activist. I think it's because I see so much of George in Dhani nd I can't imagine him doing anything like this. It isn't like he's a starving young artist who needs the money.

It is a little strange to me too, both the fur and the modeling itself although the young George of 1963 through at least 1966 knew that was part of the game. Sorry gang that we have to horizontally scroll but I wanted to include the picture but it is so large. Steve, is thenewNo2 album coming to c.d.? I have read your news reports about its itunes availability. I prefer to own a hardcopy! ;D

Great photos. I guess when you have access to so much money you are able to put out music easily without any of the hard work. Saying that it is vitally important that you get out there and play live and learn your craft.

That is a great photo... I just finished reading that book by Pattie.. I quite enjoyed it,not sure what to make of her life though,i can't tell if she was happy overall or what...... It was a very pleasant read, but very thin, in my opinion. Not like Clapton's book. There were anecdotes after anecdotes where she would not give any details at all. For example, she would say something like "George could never understand why he got so much attention over much more accomplished guitarists." I would want to know which guitarists he was talking about? What context? What was his mood? Someone doesn't just say something like that out of the blue. What went before and came after the statement. In another place, she said something about Paul often getting on John's nerves, but there were no examples. Her book, although not a fluff piece, certainly was fairly superficial. Clapton's book went deep into his core. There was a lot about him not to admire, but we can be happy for him that he became better for it.

I was surprised to see all the fur clothing in the photo shoot but I guess Dhani didn't have a problem with it.
He looks just like his dad. In fact, I have the magazine in which these pics are published, and one of the captions is a quote from George to Dhani: 'You look more like George Harrison than I do."

Indeed, and those who saw "The Concert For George" (at least the rockumentary) remember the part where Paul, referring to Dhani, said something like, "It's like George stayed young and we all got old!" which is bittersweet in a way...
