My wife was watching Project Runway (the reality show where clothing designers compete) last night and I caught the following... Chief Judge: "Isn't this outfit a little Sgt. Pepper? Designer: "What's that?" Judge: "Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band? The Beatles? Kids these days!" Designer:" Oh, the Beatles. Well I liked ACROSS THE UNIVERSE .At least the songs sounded modern and were sung by real singers" I'm only 40 and I feel like I'm 150, and living on a strange, evil planet. HOBNAIL

Don't worry about it. Some people wallow in their stupidity, AND there are some people who think they are soooooo "kinda NOW kinda wow" that they think that ONLY their sphere is of any import - hence the abundance of people with their 5 minutes of fame. I'm sure that guy thinks anything from 2007 is "sooooooo last year!". Hopefully, he'll learn or remain shallow his whole life. He did know Ringo, though.

Stupidity has no age or time barrier. There were people in the 1960s who didn't care for the Beatles, thought of them as just another pop group and couldn't see it when it was happening right before their eyes. Each to their own but...

Yes! Remember what James Bond said about the Beatles in "Goldfinger"? I'm sure OldFred, BigK or one of the other posters can supply the exact quote (or even better, a YouTube link! )

I know the scene you're referring to, Sean Connery made a comment to the effect of Beatle music being nothing but noise. I've got the DVD but I'll have to watch the scene again to come up with the exact quote.

"My dear, there are some things that are just not done. Such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That's as bad as listening to The Beatles without ear muffs."

"My dear, there are some things that are just not done. Such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Ah, so true, so true. Same goes for many of the boxes of wine I have had.

I have found that 90% of the people who diss the Beatles have never really listened. The other 10% just think they are being "cool" (when they are actually just being ignorant!)

I can live with a kid liking the songs sounding more "modern". But I'd love to hear them explain how the Beatles were not real singers.

I can live with a kid liking the songs sounding more "modern". But I'd love to hear them explain how the Beatles were not real singers. You're daft! Don't you know that REAL singers know how to sing to pre-recorded vocal tracks. Do you know how hard that is? Try retracing something you have drawn. Bet you can't do it without going over the lines - even a little. If you sing off-key or forget the words, everyone will know, if you sing along with a vocal track. No one will know if it's just you. Jeez, get with it. The Beatles played instruments to cover up their singing. The Beatles are not REAL singers because singing with a vocal track takes more skill. Just ask Milli Vanilli, Ashley Simpson, David Hasselhoff, and David Soul. ;D

today's generation is TOTALLY screwed music wise. Sample laden drivel with NO soul. Maybe I am showing my age, but the music I love(along with a lot of us here) had substance, talent and soul. Nothing like going to a show and having amps cranked to 10 and REAL people playing the instruments, not singing(or we think its singing) to a backing track.
Another horrible TV thing was "Revolution". A documentary done after Anthology with people who weren't even alive when the magic happened. Lots of "it must have been great to see this...and other phrases like that throught the program. They should have gotten people who were there when it happened.
