For Our Johnny,
Here's David Cassidy covering 'Please Please Me'. (I also posted this on the Hoffman board). ;D

I would give everything I own to see a HD film of David performing this song!
The fact that there is not film of this performance is no less a tragedy than the last John Lennon concert appearance with Elton John not being filmed!

Here's David Cassidy covering 'In My Life', with a nice intro about John Lennon.
And here's Mr. Cassidy rockin' it with 'I Saw Her Standing There'

Thanks Fred, those are both amazing videos! It is easy to see why little PF fans like me became 2nd Generation Beatles' fans: David himself was leading us there. David may have had doubts about the integrity of PF music but he helped lead us to the "real thing."
Having said that, I absolutely adore and love the first three PF studio albums. After that, I like some of the songs from the later albums but the first three are must own for any lover of good pop music. The songwriters were amazing and famous session men/women like Hal Blaine(Pet Sounds anyone?) were involved. Through on top of that David's really likeable voice and you have a winner.

My itunes oldies collection has "Point Me in my Direction of Alberquercy" a song I remember from the show.
Danny Partridge's duet with Dean Martin on the 1976 Dean Martin Christmas special, "Christmas Martinis with Santa's Helpers" still is etched in my distorted memory.

Dean Martin did a duet with Cassidy? That's sickening. Seriously... (and don't post it here...)

I guess you guys will have to find it on your own!

I can't imagine that he'd really be upset about a historic pairing like Cassidy and Martin. To me it is on par with Elvis meeting Sinatra, Dylan with Johnny Cash, Ringo Starr with Mark Hudson....never mind!

Just kidding-it was Danny I mentioned not Keith (David). Just my continued fun messin' with pop history- but Skidoo was real...

No wonder Steve M. got so agitated! David and Dean would be so cool. David nails "I Saw Her Standing There," all of the raw energy, the sexuality mixed with innocence. It is all there. It is a billion times better than Tiffany's version!
