I had fun, as you can imagine. I flew down Monday morning. Drove over to a friend's house after a rest then we headed down to the event on the Metro. Probably the best way to go was to take rapid transit, though the streets didn't seem that crowded even though they blocked off Vine Street.
The Capitol tower looked gorgeous in the sunset. They were playing Ringo videos on the screen and had pictures of Ringo and the Beatles Abbey Road cover on the tower.
I was warned it would be cold and it was a little cool but not bad. There was a good sized crowd and I swear there was a guy who resembled Allen Klein standing around. Weird.
Ringo looked incredibly happy and relaxed. He enjoyed the comments from the crowd. He was especially funny when Joe Walsh talked, since Joe's now his brother-in-law.
Barbara and Marjorie Bach looked gorgeous (no surprise). I saw Olivia Harrison briefly.
Ringo and the musicians were cheered, but the L.A. politicians got booed, which was funny.
Paul didn't show up. Ringo said he was in England. It's just as well -- it was Ringo's night.
I'll post a couple of pics in this thread soon.

steve, who was the beautiful, older african american woman who participated in the ceremony? If you're talking about the women right behind the stage, they were, I believe, L.A. city councilwomen or dignitaries.
